Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh... they criticize....Democrats

I was reading an article today about how "if you listen to Hannity, Beck or Limbaugh, you'll think the president is doing a lousy job," but if you listen to anybody else, you'll think he's doing a great job.

There were several comments appended to this article, and more than one of them said, "The reason why Obama is getting all this criticism is because Hannity, Beck and Limbaugh are racist." But they went further. "Everyone who criticizes Obama is racist."

What these people don't seem to realize is that Obama is not being criticized as a man. (Unlike his wife, of course - who is insulted regularly about her looks and the way she dresses. But that's not racist either. That's just the way men treat women, regardless of what field they are in.)

He's being critizied on the issues. Let me repeat, ON THE ISSUES.

Listen to any of Limbaugh's programs and he cites SPECIFIC things Obama has done that are bad for the country. He, like Hannity and Beck and Savage, also cite SPECIFIC things that white folks do, like Robert Gibbs, Nancy Pelosi, Napolitano, ya da ya da. THey go after everybody who is not a democrat, regardless of race.

To state categorically - to believe categorically - that the ONLY reason why most Republicans and most Independents are tired of Obama is because he's black is just plain stupid.

What should charity, and welfare, be designed to do? It should be designed to help people out temporarily... to give people in need a breathing space while they find a job to get back on their own two feet.

It should not be something that is given to thousands of people, from their birth to death - in other words all their lives. Why not? Because if you pay people to sit on their butts and do nothing... they'll sit on their butts and do nothing. Except they have access to TVs, and will be able to see people - who actually work - buying things that they can't afford to buy. But since they have no idea of the concept of working, all they can think to do is steal what they want, or "get rich quick" schemes like selling drugs, and so on.

That's what's happening in Haiti, for example. So many people over there are getting free food and medical care that actual Haitian farmers, who have food to sell, can't sell it. People who were not hurt in the earthquake have moved into the tent cities just so they can get the free medical care.

In the States? We've had a welfare class for four generations now. Welfare has destroyed the black family - women can make more money with a dozen kids and no man in the picture. (And, of course, Latino and white women are following suit, now. Whether it's because of the destruction of morals of the whole populace, or a desire to get on the gravy train, I'll leave it for you to decide.)

So now we come to Steve Baldwin. Baldwin is "one of the Baldwin brothers." A successful movie star, he made more money on a single picture than you or I will make in a lifetime.

But, a few years ago he had a setback and had to declare bankruptcy. Much like thousands of people who make thousands of dollars a year instead of millions.

Now, there is a website out there, proclaiming Stephen Baldwin a born again Christian, and requesting donations to help restore him to the luxurious life he once knew.

The website itself is very professionally done, and must have cost a few thousand dollars to create, I'd wager.

And I'm thinking, what is the gall of this man, and the gall of these religious types who have put up this site, to ask that avererage people, like you and me, donate our hard-earned money to help this man.... who is not in a wheelchair, does not have any kind of disease to prevent him from working, does not have any children with dehablitating diseases that have sucked all his money away.... why should we donate money to help him live a life of luxury???

I checked the Internet Movie Database yesterday. Baldwin is still working - he made three movies in 2010, and the year is not even half over. Even if they are just cameos... an actor of his stature will get a minimum of $100,000 for that cameo. That's how much Hollywood pays big-name stars, even for cameos.

More than that, as I said, this man is not physically or mentally disabled in any way. He is able to get a job with which he can capitalize on his fame, selling cars for an Obamacar company, for example. Getting speaking fees for groups that want to hear his Born Again message.

There is no reason why this man cannot provide for himself and his family on his own. And if he can't, can't some of his brothers help him out? Can't his wife go to work?

The very idea that this able-bodied man, still in the prime of life, is looking to solicit donations..not for a ministry, not for a worthy cause... but for himself to get back into the luxurious life... it is obscene. He should be ashamed of himself, the religious folks who put together the website should be ashamed of themselves, and anyone who donates to this site, instead of sending it to some much more reputable charity, should be ashamed of themselves!

Just the Facts, Please

The only facts that are known about the last hour and a half of Hugo Alfredo Tale-Yax life is that someone stabbed him, and that he lay on a New York street, dying, while over 20 people walked past him and did not bother to call 9-1-1-.

Those are the only facts.

Yet the man is being called a hero.

Do not misunderstand me. I hope he was a hero. There's no reason why he, or any homeless person/illegal alien, couldn't act just as heroically as a citizen of this country. I'm not trying to imply otherwise.

I'm just saying that there are no facts, at this point, one way or the other, to prove what he was, and yet he is being trumpeted as a hero without any facts at all.

I've seen the surveillance video in question, probably we all have.

From this, it is impossible to tell what happened. Perhaps the "attacker" of the woman was actually someone who knew the woman. They stop to talk, the homeless guy stops them and asks for money, the attacker (in this case, really an attacker) overreacts and stabs him, then runs away.

(Of course, perhaps the video shows more than what is shown here, and the actual stabbing has been edited out. The vidoe does seem like it has been edited at that point.)

I saw nothing in the video to suggest what Yale-Tax was doing before he was stabbed...being a hero or asking for money.

Obviously, if he was panhandling he didn't deserve to be stabbed, either. It just disturbs me that on the basis of no evidence at all, except for the fact that he died, the man is being hailed as a hero.

Obviously, the people who let him lie where he was without lifting a finger to call 911 are scum, as is the woman who, whether victim or innocent bystander, is as well. She at least would have called 911, one would have thought, always assuming she had a cell-phone.

Now, anyone want to take bets that Law and Order will be doing a story shortly, featuring this tragic incident as a jumping off point?

Want to Fish? Forget about it.

I can see banning fishiing for sailfish, tuna, and large fish of that nature. But to tell people they can't fish for sunnies, crappies, and so on... it's obscene. And its unAmerican. (But you may be sure Native American tribes will get to keep their rights to fish.)

The Obama administration will accept no more public input for a federal strategy that could prohibit U.S. citizens from fishing the nation's oceans, coastal areas, Great Lakes, and even inland waters.

One sign at the United We Fish rally at the Capital summed up the feelings of recreational and commercial fishermen. This announcement comes at the time when the situation supposedly still is "fluid" and the Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force still hasn't issued its final report on zoning uses of these waters.

That's a disappointment, but not really a surprise for fishing industry insiders who have negotiated for months with officials at the Council on Environmental Quality and bureaucrats on the task force. These angling advocates have come to suspect that public input into the process was a charade from the beginning.

"When the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) completed their successful campaign to convince the Ontario government to end one of the best scientifically managed big game hunts in North America (spring bear), the results of their agenda had severe economic impacts on small family businesses and the tourism economy of communities across northern and central Ontario," said Phil Morlock, director of environmental affairs for Shimano.

"Now we see NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and the administration planning the future of recreational fishing access in America based on a similar agenda of these same groups and other Big Green anti-use organizations, through an Executive Order by the President. The current U.S. direction with fishing is a direct parallel to what happened in Canada with hunting: The negative economic impacts on hard working American families and small businesses are being ignored.

"In spite of what we hear daily in the press about the President's concern for jobs and the economy and contrary to what he stated in the June order creating this process, we have seen no evidence from NOAA or the task force that recreational fishing and related jobs are receiving any priority."

Consequently, unless anglers speak up and convince their Congressional representatives to stop this bureaucratic freight train, it appears that the task force will issue a final report for "marine spatial planning" by late March, with President Barack Obama then issuing an Executive Order to implement its recommendations — whatever they may be.

Led by NOAA's Jane Lubchenco, the task force has shown no overt dislike of recreational angling, but its indifference to the economic, social and biological value of the sport has been deafening.

Additionally, Lubchenco and others in the administration have close ties to environmental groups who would like nothing better than to ban recreational angling. And evidence suggests that these organizations have been the engine behind the task force since before Obama issued a memo creating it last June.

As ESPN previously reported, WWF, Greenpeace, Defenders of Wildlife, Pew Environment Group and others produced a document entitled "Transition Green" shortly after Obama was elected in 2008. What has happened since suggests that the task force has been in lockstep with that position paper.

Then in late summer, just after he created the task force, these groups produced "Recommendations for the Adoption and Implementation of an Oceans, Coasts, and Great Lakes National Policy." This document makes repeated references to "overfishing," but doesn't once reference recreational angling, its importance, and its benefits, both to participants and the resource.

Additionally, some of these same organizations have revealed their anti-fishing bias by playing fast and loose with "facts," in attempts to ban tackle containing lead in the United States and Canada.

That same tunnel vision, in which recreational angling and commercial fishing are indiscriminately lumped together as harmful to the resource, has persisted with the task force, despite protests by the angling industry.

As more evidence of collusion, the green groups began clamoring for an Executive Order to implement the task force's recommendations even before the public comment period ended in February. Fishing advocates had no idea that this was coming.

Perhaps not so coincidentally, the New York Times reported on Feb. 12 that "President Obama and his team are preparing an array of actions using his executive power to advance energy, environmental, fiscal and other domestic policy priorities."

Click here for archiveMorlock fears that "what we're seeing coming at us is an attempted dismantling of the science-based fish and wildlife model that has served us so well. There's no basis in science for the agendas of these groups who are trying to push the public out of being able to fish and recreate.

"Conflicts (user) are overstated and problems are manufactured. It's all just an excuse to put us off the water."

In the wake of the task force's framework document, the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) and its partners in the U.S. Recreational Fishing & Boating Coalition against voiced their concerns to the administration.

"Some of the potential policy implications of this interim framework have the potential to be a real threat to recreational anglers who not only contribute billions of dollars to the economy and millions of dollars in tax revenues to support fisheries conservation, but who are also the backbone of the American fish and wildlife conservation ethic," said CSF President Jeff Crane.

Morlock, a member of the CSF board, added, "There are over one million jobs in America supported coast to coast by recreational fishing. The task force has not included any accountability requirements in their reports for evaluating or mitigating how the new policies they are drafting will impact the fishing industry or related economies.

"Given that the scope of this process appears to include a new set of policies for all coastal and inland waters of the United States, the omission of economic considerations is inexcusable."

This is not the only access issue threatening the public's right to fish, but it definitely is the most serious, according to Chris Horton, national conservation director for BASS.

"With what's being created, the same principles could apply inland as apply to the oceans," he said. "Under the guise of 'marine spatial planning' entire watersheds could be shut down, even 2,000 miles up a river drainage from the ocean.

"Every angler needs to be aware because if it's not happening in your backyard today or tomorrow, it will be eventually.

"We have one of the largest voting blocks in the country and we need to use it. We must not sit idly by."

Now, admittedly, this isn't quite as ridiculous as letting a whole series of home go to wrack and ruin because to fix them would harm the habitat of a snail - a snail - but it's up there.

Tea-partyers Must Learn From the Plight of the American Indian

The above cartoon was written by someone named Lalo Alcaraz. I don't know what paper it appears in, I read it at Yahoo's comics page.

The inference of the comic is, I think, that the Tea Partyers have no right to whine and cry about "wanting their country back" because they're hypocrites - and because "they" stole this country from the Indians.

I submit that there should be a different interpretation. The plight of the American Indian - confined to reservations (now) by their own choosing, 80% unemployment on some reservations, alcoholism rife, and the loss of their particular patch of country (for various tribes of Indians were scattered throughout the North American continent) - is one that all Americans need to look at and understand.

Native Americans lost their land for one reason - they did not secure their borders. Caucasians - Spanish and French first, then the English, came in and took over - and they did it by force. The various Indian tribes hated each other and would not band together to fight off the enemy. So, they lost their country.

Now, is it hypocritical [as the cartoon tries to imply] for Americans today - perhaps ancestors of those original "illegal immigrants" - to be angry as they see their country, the country of the last 200 years, the United States of America, one that encompasses the entire country and has laws that encompass the entire country - being taken over by a new wave of illegal immigrants? Illegals who are taking over not by force, but by economic pressure and the forces of liberalism?

I submit that today's Americans - a melting pot of every region's people that has ever come here - have no reason to feel guilty for what their ancestors did 200 years ago, when life was extremely different to what it is today. (And when millions and millions of dollars have been paid out in re-payment of the land, if not the lifestyle, which is gone forever, and just needs to be accepted. Time to move on.)

But one lesson remains the same.

The Indians lost their culture, their language and their ways because they could not secure their borders. The "illegal immigrants" of that time, if you want to call them that, took that all away by force.

The culture and country that replaced it was one where everyone spoke English, immigrants who came here melted into the pot and also spoke English. (Yes, Asians and blacks who could not melt had hard times, but I'm trying to make a point here. At least the Asians learned how to speak English and we don't have an Asionics. And today they are very successful - although losing ground now that more and more Asians of the illegal variety are coming in....and we're getting gangs and so forth.

The culture of the United States, honed over 200 years, the language of the United States - English - all of it are in danger of being destroyed by a new invasion.

If we (Americans of all races, creeds and colors with perhaps two things holding us together - a knowledge of English and a belief that we should all stand on our own two feet and make our way in the world) do not want to see our culture destroyed, we need to stop illegal immigration now.

Don't misunderstand me. It only makes sense for people to want to come to the US, the greatest country in the world. Who could begrudge people that?

But it's all about economics. We're a bankrupt country as it is - we simply don't have the money to keep putting our own citizens on welfare, let alone illegal immigrants. At one point people were ashamed to be on welfare (much as women were ashamed to be unwed mothers [as opposed to divorced mothers]), now a majority of people go on welfare as a matter of course and don't bother to fight their way off it. And why should they, if that welfare will always be there - which is what the Democrats want. As for unwed mothers, nowadays that's a badge of honor. Not loveable enough to get married, but at least a guy wanted to sleep with me, and see, I have proof, here's my kid. Now, where's my welfare check?

Immigrants should come to this country legal, in batches so that they can be integrated into our culture.

Anything else is sheer lunacy, like continuing to pour water into a bucket that's already full.

George Bush has long been mocked by people as someone who mispronounced the world nuclear. One must ask oneself, does he really misprounce it, or does he use the pronunciation of the region in which he was born and raised?

Different regions of a country (but since I live in the US I'll talk about the US) have different pronunciations for the same words.

For example, I'm a northerner living in Norfolk, Virgina, and I pronounce it Nor-folk -- the way it should be pronounced. But people who were born and bred here pronounce it Nor-fuck (please, childish minds, don't snigger over my use of the f-word there. It isn't the f-word, it's how they pronounce Norfolk.)

However, there are some words that, if you know the rules of grammar, can only be pronounced one way.

Such a word is corpsman. Yes, there's a P in it, and kids reading that word may be forgiven for pronouning that P. But they will be told (if their teachers are allowed to teach) that the p is silent and so the proper pronunciation is coreman. Indeed, I'm sure that as a kid I pronounced it corpse-man myself, until someone - probably my brother - corrected me and said, no, it's coreman.

Apparently, President Obama had no teacher and no brother to tell him how to pronounce that word. And so he ends up embarrasing himself (Of course, the Dems won't mention it, but the Republicans will never let it go, much as the opposite happened with Bush.)

But this brings up a larger issue, which is why my post is entitled FYI, It's Aq-kwigh-nus, not ack-kwee-nus.

We've just had first hand evidence of why it is important for someone who mispronounces a word to be corrected! That person may never use that word again, or he may be standing up in front of 10,000 people and mispronounce it in front of them and all the world.

I have a college-level education, but I acquired it on my own, by systematic reading in subjects that interested me. In my early 20s, I met a couple who were quite erudite. I visited their house once, looked over their library, and saw that they had books by Thomas Aquinas. Now, I had read much of this man, but I'd never heard his name pronounced, so I pronounced it Ack-kwee-nus.

My friend, a woman, corrected me. "Ac-kwigh-nus." Her husband immediately reproved her for correcting me - this despite the fact that it was just the three of us! I immediately said, "No, thanks for the correction. I'm glad to have learned the proper way to pronounce it."

Now, in my case, I've never again had the change to use the name Thomas Aquinas in conversation, but if I had, I know I wouldn't have mispronounced it.

Look, on the other hand, at the dicussions (if they can be called that) that go on in message boards. People mispelling words, using improper grammar, etc. Now, obviously, some people correct their grammar and spelling not in an effort to teach, but in an effort to put down...but that doesn't change the fact that people who spell incorrectly, or use the wrong grammar, should - gently - be corrected.

Otherwise, they may make the same mistake in a letter to a potential employer, for example. Now, that may be stretching it...the real reason they should be corrected is because people should know the right spelling, the right grammar. People in their twenties and upwards who do not know correct grammar and word usage should be ashamed of themselves, because it shows they have no interest in knowledge and increasing their knowledge - and we all of us need to increase our knowledge of the world, every day of our lives.

Now, some intelligent and articulate people are not good spellers. I grant you that. I don't understand how that can be... but I know that it is so. I've met several people who are not only well educated but smart enough to understand and apply what they've learned (the two don't necessarily go together), but they can't spell for toffee. But, they're smart enough to have a secretary or a spell-checker verify their work.

It is sad, therefore, that should someone mispronounce a word or mispell a word, people are not allowed to correct them, for fear of hurting their feelings. (Just for one example, teachers can't use red ink to correct papers anymore, it makes students feel bad! Students can't grade each other's papers any more... it makes a student feel bad if someone else knows he missed every single question. And rather than being spurred on to do better work in fture, better that he just not be humiliated to begin with, eh?)

Exactly how much help does Haiti need?

President Obama has promised a $100 million relief effort. Several countries around the world are also promising help.

So why do we Americans have to do anything else? It is our tax money that is part of that $100 million relief effort.

If our government is helping the Haitians, as are the governments of several other countries, again, why does the "little person" have to do anything (except continue to pay our taxes, of course.)

I'm not saying that the little person shouldn't help out people in need, I'm saying that the government has already got this under control. (And of course, much hay will be made out of how efficiently Obama is reacting to this as opposed to how Bush handled Katrina, but then, Obama had the Katrina debacle to learn from.)

The reason I bring this up is because of a Gossip website called Celbrity-Gossip.net.

If you read the headline, it's Tiger Woods: $3 Million for Haiti? If you read the first sentence, you get "People all over the world are scrambling to help the rescue effort in earthquake-torn Haiti, and Tiger Woods may be joining the cause."

But if you read the entire article, you find out that the whole thing is just made up. A hip-hop mogul is going to ask Tiger Woods to donate $3 million. He's going to do this tomorrow. (Does this mean this guy actually knows where Woods is? Or is he just going to ask Woods people?)

Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons told press, “Tiger is working on sending a mobile hospital with 50 EMTs to go set up a triage. I am just asking for his heart and his hand. Just to meet the needs of the people.”

Simmons continued, “I am just reaching out to him as a human. I am waiting to have the conversation with Tiger tomorrow morning. I am hopeful that it is a yes.”

So what this Simmons guy says in the first para is that Tiger is doing this, the second paragraph is that he's going to ask Tiger to do this tomorrow.

Why is this even being reported. Why is Simmons going to the press and saying he's going to ask Tiger for money?

Well, it's a form of blackmail. You tell the press you're going to ask Tiger for money, if Tiger says no he'll come across as even worse of a jerk than he is now. But consider.... Tiger is losing endorsements left right and center...so he has no new money coming in. His wife is going to take him for half of the money he has now.

A man in such straits can't afford to send $3 million to Haiti, especially when, as stated before, the US government is already committed to spending $100 million!

All these people who are saying they're going to donate a million - the MLB, probably soon the NFL and NBA - blackmailed into it, I"m sure - will go for good PR, but what's the point. HOw much money over $100 mil do the Haitians need? And why not wait until that $100 mil is spent before you donate, so you can make sure your money is going to Haiti and not to some other part of the world that whatever charity you're giving to, will divert funds.

How Does Pat Robertson Have Any Followers At All??

According to Pat Robertson, the earthquake in Haiti that is estimated to have killed 100,000 people - and probably more by the time humanitarian aid gets there -- is the fault of the Haitians themselves because they made a pact with the Devil 200 years ago.

Earthquake was "blessing in Disguise".

So, people today are being murdered by God because their ancestors made a pact with the Devil?

Rush Limbaugh was talking about Haiti today, pointing out that it was a miserably poor country, but if you went over the mountains to the Dominician Republic it was like night and day... and it was the leaders of Haiti who were to blame (Communists, etc.) [Haiti occupies one third of the island of Hispaniola, Domincan Republic occupies the other two thirds.] What I want to know is... where is the aid from the Dominican Repupblic?

Apparently some woman was saying that the level of poverty on Haiti was unacceptable.

Debbie Wassesrman Schulz blames the US -- apparently we shoudl have gone in with guns blazing and made Haiti a terriroty, like Hawaii?

You should think of the most primitive environments, the most primitive living conditions that you can imagine. It is wrong, especially in a region as prosperous as this one, for us to continue to allow the desperate situation that exists in Haiti to continue, and I want to conclude by saying that in particular it's incredibly important that the United States grant TPS, temporary protective status to the Haitians that are here because the last thing in the world that we need to have happen is for Haitians who are here to be sent back to Haiti in this desperate hour that they are struggling through, there's no way they could support that.

Why not send them back, as part of construction crews to help rebuild their shattered country? We give money - to honest construction firms, of course - and the Haitians rebuild their country and stay there.

[Just read up a bit more on Haiti at Wikipedia...apparently the Dominican Republic keeps Haitians out by force...since they're black and speak French.... Dominican Republicans are Latino and speak Spanish.

Making Money Out of Victim Hood

Tiger Woods' alleged mistress lands TV project
A woman who alleges she had an affair with shamed golf star Tiger Woods is extending her 15 minutes of fame - by teaming up with another self-proclaimed "mistress" for a new TV project.

Jamie Jungers came forward last year with allegations the sports star seduced her at a party in 2005 and subsequently struck up an illicit 18-month affair with her.

She is now said to be making plans with Sarah Symonds, who went public with her own claims of an affair with British TV chef Gordon Ramsay last year, for a TV project to help women stuck in "bad relationships with married men."

Symonds, who runs a support group for needy women, wants to film a TV special with Jungers to help raise awareness of the issue.

She tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, "I run a group called Mistresses Anonymous. It's the only support group for women who are in bad relationships with married men. I have been talking to Jamie about getting her involved.

"Ideally what I'd like to do is a TV special with all of Tiger's mistresses, where they could discuss the downside to being 'the other woman,' and whether he was good in bed."

Woods' relationship with his wife, Elin Nordegren, came under the spotlight in November after a string of alleged mistresses came forward with stories of secret trysts with the golf star. Woods later admitted his "infidelity". The couple married in 2004 and has two children.

Why do women who are in "bad relationships with married men" need support? If they get involved with a married man, they have no rights. He's married. Deal with it. If he promises to divorce his wife to marry them...wait until he's divorced his wife before you start having sex with the guy. Then you'll see how quickly that divorce comes through , and if it never does, you know he's lying!

In the same way that women throughout history have been victimized by men, by having sex before marriage, and then getting dumped by the man, so they either had to give the baby away or raise it as their own to the scorn of the rest of the world. And frankly, I blame the girls who were told that they shouldn't have sex before being married... but they just couldn't wait...

(And no, I'm not saying that women today should wait until after marriage to have sex. I'm just saying that they should use condoms and the pill, (the boots and braces philosophy) to ensure that they dont' have children. If they want children, they should be in a committed relationship. Because as statistics show, single parents - if the parent is female - are typically poorer than couples with kids, and the child suffers accordingly. Not to mention the welfare the woman gets... which comes out of the taxpayer's pocket.

Of course there are always exceptions to every rule...but I'll reiterate that a married man's mistress deserves no sympathy whatsoever. If he's married, she's got no business messing with him until he gets a divorce. (And then of course she can spend her time wondering if he's going to cheat on her, next.)

I actually haven't bothered to listen to it myself. Apparently he points out that America has the best health care in the world. This is, I beleive, true, but of course the naysayers are pointing out that Rush is very wealthy so he can afford to pay for the best health care, and so his case proves nothing.

However, as Rush points out, anyone can get healthcare. If you don't have insurance, you are simply billed on a payment plan. Which, granted, may take you a lifetime to pay. Which is why everyone should buy insurance, and on that point I really dont understand why Rush and other conservatives are up in arms about *that particular portion* of the healthcare bill.

No need to put them in jail. Simply deny them any medical help. If they can't afford to buy medical coverage for themselves - they can't afford to have children, either. But how many poor people continue to have children, content in the knowledge that the government will support them? (Yes, I know that's a complex issue. Many people have children they can't afford because they are trapped in a religion that prohibits them from practicing birth control, no matter into what hell their babies will be born.)

I was looking at a website called Ananova today, which culls newspaper articles from England and presents them on one page. It's pretty much a useless site in one instance, as the newspapers that these articles are from aren't mentioned!

Nevertheless, here's one of hte headlines from today:

And I'm going to assume that that's the same headline that appeared in the original newspaper article, and on on-line newsfeeds. Now, what do most people do? They get their news from headlines, not from the actual article - that would take too much time to read, eh? So they read the headline, which says "Armed policetargeted young blacks," and that just reinforces what they've already been trained to believe, that white cops (obviously the cops are white and racist, that's a given) are going around shooting at any young black man who moves.

But if you read the article, that's not the case.

Internal Scotland Yard documents revealed senior officers suspected a small number of gang members and drug dealers were carrying weapons.

They decided to send in specialist CO19 armed officers alongside neighbourhood officers to patrol troubled London housing estates last year.

A series of forms completed ahead of the operations named key suspects and criminal gangs known to hold guns.

They show officers realised the move could fuel racial tensions as almost all the suspects were black.

So - the cops go into troubled housing estates, looking for specific suspects - who are black. That's a far cry from going in and shooting every black person they see, which is what the headline implied.

It's as funny, and as sad, as that poor woman who called in someone whom she thought was a prowler trying to get into that black Harvard professor's home in Cambridge. She had the utter gall to tell 911 that the person she thought was trying to break in was black - therefore she must have been a racist! Obviously what she was supposed to do was say, "Someone's trying to break into a man's house. I can't tell you his race, because that would be racist, so just hurry to the house and stop everyone on the street, regardless of their race, and ask them if they're the ones who tried to break into the house."

Political correctness is going to kill us all. (And by us, I mean all Americans, all Brits, all "every civilized country in the world that is caught up in political correctness".)

You'll hear the line, "no matter what was in it."

That's the problem with this whole health care debacle. No one has read this bill, they don't really know what's in it. The Republicans know it's a disaster, however, and the Democrats have tons of pork. Business as usual in politics in Washington.

Meantime, Obama and his family are off enjoying themselves for a vacation. If Bush'd gone on vacation during these tough economic times..what outrage! But Obama gets a free pass. Also standard operating procedure.

As for the health care bill - give health care to everyone on welfare, to be paid for by people who work their butts off... milk the wealthy dry.... as long as there are no wealthy people, the poor won't complain any more... as long as everyone's miserable, they'll be happy... never mind that if they'd just stopped having babies they couldn't afford, and gotten educations and then decent jobs, they could have afforded health care under the system as it used to be...

Wake up, everybody. The poor will love this bill...as everyone else will join them in poverty.

Just saw the last half of an episode called "Rapture." A wealthy Wall Street type, who had promised to give money so a guy could take his welfare boys to a house in the country where they could skate, play ball, ya da ya da, reneges. But his company gets a bailout, and they proceed to go to Arizona to party on the tax payer's money.

So, the guy kidnaps the man's girlfriend, she manages to escape, runs into the street and is killed.

The guy goes on trial, and the lawyer puts all the blam on the Wall Street type for not fulfilling his promise. "The woman would be alive today if the wall street guy hadn't been a cold - hearted bastard."

And the writer has the jury aquit the guy! And when McCoy, and his DA and assistant are discussing the case, McCoy acts like he agrees with the verdict. And the DA has his little speech.. "The pain that the Wall Street people caused you, the destructoin, etc."

So the Wall Street debacle - fueled by the failure of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, who were ordered by Carter, Clinton and other dems to give loans to people who couldn't afford them - is to be blamed on the "shadiness" of Wall Street.

And killing them is justified.

I'm reminded of the story of the minister in the UK who told his congregation it was perfectly okay to go out and shoplift from the big stores, because they were rich and therefore evil.

At the end of the episode, McCoy - or it may be the woman asistant, said "This is what is to come. More and more people are getting angry..." and of course they're going to take it out on those who are more "fortunate" (never more industrious) than them.

What's a prenuptial contract and why do people sign one

if it can be renogotiated at the drop of a pair of pants...admittedly, hundreds and hundreds of times over the last 7 years.

In the case of Tiger Woods vs his wife Elin Nordegren, I have no sympathy for Tiger. He brought this on himself. But when the woman married him, she signed a prenuptial contract. So now that she's going to divorce him... there is no debate. She gets exactly what that prenuptial contact states. And hopefully it's a good one.

But if it isn't...that's just too damn bad. It was a contract, she signed it, she wants a divorce now, there is no "renegotiating!"

I have sympathy with her now. If she really is trying to "renegotiate" that prenup, I will no longer have any sympathy for her. And that goes for anybody who signs a contract - premarital, sports or otherwise, and then gets some shyster lawyer to help him or her renege on it.

Tiger Wood's humiliation is not yet complete

I've never been a fan of Tiger Woods... in the first place because I've never been a fan of golf, in the second place because, when my attention has been drawn to the game of golf in my capacity as a freelance writer, it's been to see Tiger's feet of clay on the golf course - the tantrums and the swearing, which I don't like in children, let alone grown men.

But, as the Tiger Woods saga goes on, I admit I have taken to reading the articles and the comment sections attached to those articles. Not so much because I want to read all the salacious details of Woods' various affairs and rent girls, but because I find it fascinating (and depressing) to read about his incredible stupidity, and it's interesting to see how many people writing their comments are a) writing directly to Woods as if they actually think Woods is going to read their little scribbles, and b) religious types urging him to turn to God.

And that is when Tiger Woods' humiliation will be complete. When he finally does make his public appearance - on Oprah or Jerry Springer or whatever - and says he's turned to God and prayed and prayed and found redemption, and now he asks his fans to forgive him too.

God's got nothing to do with it!

Atheists have morals just as religious types do... indeed their morals are more pure, because they come out of an instinctive knowledge of what's right and wrong, and do not come from a book that promises eternal hellfire if they break the rules.

Adultery is a common human condition...humans may be at the top of the animal chain but they are animals neverthless, and most animals are not monogomous. Supposedly wolves are, and swans I think...

So although I'm disgusted with Tiger Woods that he'd cheat on his wife, it's not so much that he's cheated, as that he's done it so stupidly.

Indeed,that's what I can't understand about any man who cheats on his wife, and does it stupidly. A married man has no business fathering a chlid on another woman - wear a damn condom, you moron! Not only so that you don't get your paramour pregnant, but so that you don't catch any disease this woman might have and in turn present it to your wife!

And TIger Woods apparently never wore condoms when he was having sex - so he was dependent on the women in the case to take it upon themselves not to get pregnant. We've yet to hear of any women coming forward claiming to have a child he fathered or demanding a paternity test...which surprises me a lot, I don't mind telling you.

Then there's the fact that he apparently called up his women and actually left sexually-related voicemails! Which those women could in turn record off the phones and use in blackmail plots! How stupid is that? obviously if you call a mistress, you talk innocuosly or cryptically, so no one else who hears that message will be able to know for sure that you're talking to a mistress/prostitute.

Then there's the fact that Woods apparently used a madame and prostitutes provided b y her.. I presume this was in Nevada where it's legal...now I don't know about guys - obviously they use prostitutes all the time otherwise prostitution would not be known as the oldest profession -- but I've often thought... doesn't this affect the guy's ego? An actor, a politician, an athlete...and he has to pay for sex?

Well, what else is there? Of course, there's the fact that all of Tiger Woods' many women are blond haired and white. Certain pundits are saying that this means Woods has not gotten past the "post-racial" America (or "post-racist" as one man called it, and which seems to me to be a better term). Instead he's "bought in" to this "false view" of what constitutes beauty - which is blonde haired blue eyed women. So he's a disgrace to his race, not because he's cheating, but because he's cheating with the wrong color woman.

I have yet to read that he was in to bondage...which would really put him up the spout as far as most of his still-remaining fans are concerned. (And I must admit that I really liked Gil Grissom on CSI, until the character of the dominatrix was introduced and they made it seem like Grissom had availed himself of her services - that ruined his character for me, how can you respect a man (or a woman) who likes to be dominated in the way that dominatrixes do it?)

And I haven't heard that he beat on any of his mistresses or his wife, which again would really be beyond the pale, and much worse than cheating. (And considering his temper on the course, it's rather surprising, in view of these relevations, that he wasn't violent in the home. Although perhaps his wife kept a golf club handy to guard against that very proclivity.)

And perhaps what might have been worst of all... at least all these women he was bedding were women, and not men. Because if it had turned out that Tiger Woods was gay, the firestorm that's been going on would have been three times more explosive.

In the end, it turns out that Tiger Woods was "just a man after all", too stupid to exercise a little restraint in order to keep his image intact. Iit's not "pride goeth before a fall," but rather "stupidity goeth before a fall," and Tiger sure was stupid.

Did Tiger Woods Want to Get Caught?

I didn't bother to read any of the Tiger Woods coverage for the longest time...I dont' really care about Tiger Woods or what he does, what had me disgusted was how all his mistresses were suddenly coming out of the woodwork...eager to cash in on this opportunity to get 7-figure payouts for their sleazy stories.

Of course it turns out their speed was probably a good thing. As more and more of 'em come out into the open, the size of their payouts will probably diminish... of course they will probably get together and file a class action lawsuit against Tiger for not paying them all equally, or something...

Today, I was listening to the Rush Limbaugh show and he pointed out that a new "madame" had come forward and said that Tiger liked threesomes, and had paid one woman $15,000 for her services over a period of time.

And I"m just thinking to myself... was he trying to get caught?

Because he's an intelligent guy... or at least he sounds intelligent... why get married if you have no intention of not being a faithful husband? He was rich enough to be able to afford a cook and a maid and a laundress, so he didn't need a "free" one - which is what a wife is, eh? So he could have had three women in his very own house to service him... kind of like James Coburn's Derek Flint's harem in In Like Flint in the 1960s.

But why have so many mistresses and prostitutes? The more people of that nature you have, the more chances someone is going to spill the beans!

Of course what boggles my mind, among other things, is that Tiger actually paid for sex. I've never understood why men pay for sex. Doesn't that destroy their egos, to know that they can't get sex from a woman unless they pay for it? But for Tiger, actors, and athletes, with women throwing themselves at them all the time?

Of course the accepted logic is that men like Tiger pay for sex because they don't want a casual one-night stand woman to delude herself into thinkig she meant more to Tiger than that, and try to blackmail him to leave his wife and be faithful to her. Whereas girls you pay, know you're paying them for sex and that's it.

Another thing Limbaugh said was that Tiger had sex without protection - ie without a condom. If so, that's downright criminal and he should go to jail just for that. In the first place of course, it's stupid. Has Tiger never heard of Jason Caffey, or Shawn Kemp each of whom has over 9 illigemate children by different mothers? And never mind the illegitimate child issue. How many of these women would have had sexually transmitted diseases that he, in turn, could have passed on to the little woman at home? Or even AIDs?

Of course the article doesn't explain the real reason why athletes have more illegitmate kids than anyone else - they're too stupid to wear condoms. And the woman in question "saw them coming" as the saying goes. Because even once a mulit-millionaire athlete's career is over and he's making nothing, apparently the support payments have to continue as if he still did have that income...which seems pretty stupid.

And finally,there's the issue of Tiger's wife.

According to Limbaugh, Tiger's wife is still with him, and they're going to go together on a cruise.

If that's the case, the woman is a fool - and a gold digger - and deserves scathing comments heaped on her head.

The guy cheated on you - not with one mistress, not with two... but with dozens. And not only mistresses but for prostitues hired for the occasion - sometimes two at a time!

He's not worth being married to. Take your pre-nup and get out now, with the kids.

First Obama, the President of the United States of America, which at one point was a sovereign country, bowed down to the Saudi King. There was a bit of outrage, but his "people" explained, "of course he didn't bow. The King was just a much smaller man." Also, "It's really hard to tell what he was doing. That other guy obscurs him."

Well, now he's bowed to the emperor of Japan.

Here's the thing. American presidents don't bow. They shake hands as equals. If he wanted to pay his respects to this much older man, he'd have bowed his head, not bent over so far you could iron a shirt on ihs back!

I am really tired of this woman...

I'm a Republican, and a woman, and would very much like to see a competent woman as our next President...what a fist in the eye of radical Muslims that would be.

But Sarah Palin?

She's got a new book out, in which she details "tension" in the camp with McCain.

Now, the McCain/Palin campaign was one of the worst-run campaigns either, and you've got to blame McCain for that.

But what I want to know is...why was his choice of running mate delayed for so long. For that matter, why is any Presidential candidate's choice of running mate delayed for so long? Surely, these VP candidates should not only be vetted, but also *talked to*, for months in advance, not just picked out of the air in hopes of giving someone a political advantage.

The whole election system, not to say political systesm, in the USA has to be cleaned up. It never will be of course, as the crooks are firmly entrenched...

Go Out as a Hero, not as a Despicable Piece of ...

Let me preface this blog entry by saying that I'm not advocating anyone going postal and going out and killing innocent people.

If you're at the end of your tether and don't feel like you can face life anymore and want to commit suicide by cop... do it by first killing people who don't deserve to live - drug dealers, rapists, murderers who got off because of technicalities. Then, if you're shot down by cops doing their duty, you'll at least be remembered as someone who cleansed the earth of garbage.

I just don't understand why, when people snap, they want to go out in a blaze of gunfire and be remembered for killing innocent people who had little or nothing to do with them, so that their names will be despised forever by all right thinking people.

Obama gives a shout out before talking about Fort Hood murders

Obama was to have given a speech today about health care and Native Americans. *Before* he got on the rostrum, he was given the information about the murders at Fort Hood. Instead of going into that directly, he talks for three minutes to the Native Americans/First Americans in the audience, and then goes on to talk about Fort Hood.

Seems to me he should have talked about Fort Hood first.

On the other hand, I've read posts at various Replican websites that say that Obama was cheerful and smiling and upbeat, and then in a blink of an eye goes somber (just as Clinton did at somebody's funeral a while back... my mind's blanking on that person's name.) Anyway, to me, it doesn't look like he's cheerful at all, he speaks in his normal laid back manner. As for the "shout out" to a Medal of Honor winner... I dislike the term "shout out" for anyone except an athlete. "Let's give a little respect to..." something like that. Neverthless, it does seem odd that he would talk about the Health care stuff first, and then Fort Hood, when on a day like today, Fort Hood - and the fact that the shooter was a converted Muslim - is bound to raise some concerns, considering that other Muslim-American soldiers have also killed American soldiers recently.

(Having said that , the practice of a subordinate killing an officer has apparently a long tradition in the US military, but that's one guy killing an officer because he disliked that officer's treatment of him, not a guy killing others based on their religion because he's of a different religion. And let's not forget Timothy McVeigh killed a helluva lot of people too...)

As I've said over and over again, the only way to get peace on earth is to get everone converted to atheism and humanism. Then we might have a chance, because 20009 years of Christiantity/Muslims/Jews just ain't working.

Are you now, or have you ever been, a racist?

That's a play on words from the question during the Communist witch hunts of the 1950s, for those of you who "just don't get it," as the Reverend Jeremiah Wright would say.

To refresh your knowledge/memory... actors were brought into the room to testify. They could either name their friends who were communists, or they could keep their mouths shut, and be blacklisted for failing to cooperate. And of course, everyone they named would be blacklisted as well.

The same thing is now happening with the race business here in the US.

Take the Rush Limbaugh debacle. He's part of a group of businessmen who want to buy the Rams, and Al Sharpton and everyone in the race business is all outraged. Then even some owners chime in and say they dont want Rush. (Do they not want him, or do they want to give the impression that they don't, to get on the rising tide of sentiment against him so that they are not convicted as racists by being silent on the subject?)

"Convicted as racist." That's the point. Take football players. They can lie, steal, cheat, kill... and they'll get another chance on the football field because they are good players. But let someone schmuck be convicted of being a racist (and when I say racist, I am referring to a white person. Everyone knows minorities can't be racist! All that tension between Asians and blacks ... that's just disputes over living space. Nothing racist about it! Between Jews and blacks? No, that's not racist...)

ANyway, the actor who played Kramer made some unfortunate repartees to a heckling black guy at a night club, and all of a sudden his career is over. He's been branded, not as being unfunny or slow of wit when it comes to dealing with a heckler, but racist, and he'll never be allowed to work again. Although Jerry Seinfled is doing his best to "rehabilitate him" in the eyes of the people - and Bravo Seinfeld for taking such a brave step!

Meanwhile, Asians tried to do it to Shaquille O'Neal (after he "mocked" Yao Ming and therefore, the whole Chinese race), but O'Neal stood tall and said it was ridiculous. Of course, he could afford to do so - he's a great basketball player.

But when it comes to people who work in normal businesses, who can be replaced by dozens of other people...get yourself branded a racist - true or imagined... and your life is over.

Thirty years after his father drowned in a rescue attempt, Zack Stephney helped save a woman whose car sank.

The youngest of five children, he was only 8 when his father died.

For three decades, he'd carried with him mere snapshots of memories: Family time at Christmas. Riding on the back of Dad's motorcycle. Tommie Stephney's love for drag-racing.

But as the 37-year-old Douglasville, Georgia, man set out September 22 to try and save a woman whose car was swept away by rushing waters, he thought of his father's drowning. He, too, had fought to rescue people struggling against currents.

That was in 1979.

Are Racial Differences Racist?

Many years ago, I briefly watched a retrospective of the TV show Good Times, an all-black sit com which I, white, watched and liked in my teens - although I confess I found JJ (Jimmie Walker) annoying with his "Dynomite" schtick.

In this retrospective, the actor playing Ralph Carter - Michael Evans, explained why John Amos as James Evans Sr. left the show. I can't remember exactly what he said, but it was something like, "In black culture, the father musn't be outshone by the son. The writers were making JJ the star of the series, and as the father, James Evans couldn't be asked to put up with that."

And let us not forget that when talking about Kwanzaa, etc, black advocates are talking about celebrating black culture. And if they're celebrating black culture, it must be different from white culture, correct? In what ways is it different, hm?

Well, one way in which it is different -- now -- is that 75 percent of all black children are born out of wedlock, as opposed to something like 30% for whites. Most black kids are second or third generation single parents, and believe it or not, if you grow up in a home with only one parent, especially if its an unmarried and uneducated mother, your'e going to be poor. (IF a kid, regardless of race, has a kid at age 15, they typically can't or don't want to finish their education, thus, uneducated.)

And single mothers raise their kid(s) differently than do dual-parent households. Because most of them are on welfare, they teach their kids not to take anything from anybody, so several generations of kids have been brought up to be a bit more violent than white kids. (Don't get me wrong. White kids can be plenty sadistic. So can Asians. People are people. But I'm takling about the differences generated by how parents raise kids differently.)

Point is, this study that Newsweek published, with the magazine cover, Is Your Baby Racist, talked about 100 white kids ages 5-7, who said that black kids were meaner than white kids.

Now, why does that make these kids racist? Can it be that black kids are meaner than white kids? Because black kids have been taught to be very prickly, to see offense everywhere, etc. etc.?

But, no. 100 kids say black kids are meaner than white kids, they must be racist.

Here are a few articles which show that children of different races are discplined differently...therefore they act different than other children... it is not racist to perceive differences in attitudes among different races...

First off, how can you come to any wide-reaching conclusion whatsoever when your study consists of 566 kids. Out of how many in the US. Millions and millions. And then again, 366 more white kids than black get tested...obviously things are going to be weighted/skewed a bit.

Yet these kinds of studies, with such small sample sizes, are reported as if they prove everything.

Black kid gets on a bus full of all white people. None of them will let him sit down. Finally, he moves a bag, and sits down. The person who owns the bag starts beating up on this kid. Meanwhile, the entire bus stands up and starts cheering.

Had that been the case, the ACLU, ACORN, every African American person in the country would have been screaming racism and demanding that every kid on that bus have his identity known so he could never get a job again.

But...it was the other way around. The victim was white. The boy who beat on him was black, everyone cheering the beating was black.

So obviously, it wasn't a hate crime. It was just because the boy dared to move a bag so he could sit down, because none of the fine, upstanding kids on that bus wanted to let him sit next to them.

Pay your d*mn debt!

I'm watching Sports Center on ESPN, and every commercial break there's a commercial for some company saying, "If you've got $10,000 in debt you've got a right to reduce that debt." And there's footage of Obama looking back and forth between his teleprompters.

Here's what annoys me.

Lots of people have $10,000 in debt, and they're paying their bills on time. Why should *they* have to pay their bills, when other people who *can't* pay their debt, are allowed to "settle" their debt for pennies on the dollar?

I bet plenty of people who are perfectly able to settle their debts on their own are now calling up these companies in order to get this deal for themselves. Why shouldn't they?

I've often considered calling up these people and saying, "Hey, I don't have any credit card debt right now, but if you'll send me one, I'll rack up $10,000 worth of charges, and then settle it." And of course the merchants who accepted my "promise of payment' which is what a purchase on credit is, will be out of luck....and pretty soon out of business.

One of many annoying things about these commercials is the presence of Obama in them. Of course there's the "small print" saying, "This is a dramatization. Obama isn't necessarily endorsing this" but what do most people see? President Obama saying, "Sure, just because you incurred this debt doesn't mean you have to pay it. It's not your fault. You've been squeezed by the big, bad, racist credit card companies, and I"m doing somethign about it by makign it so you don't have to pay for anything you purchased, or return it even though you can't pay for it!)

I am reminded of a court case from a few years ago. A white couple wanted to adopt a black baby, but I think it was the ACLU or maybe ACORN that filed a lawsuit to prevent it. "Black children should be raised by black parents. They want to look up at their parents and see people who look just like them." I paraphrase, but that's the gist.

Now we get this piece of garbage:

Newsweek could have had a baby from each race, with that question, but no, only white people can be racist, eh?

And its offensive of course just as the bible is offensive in saying that babies are born sinners. Yeah, right.

Kids become familiar with their parents, and some react badly to strangers or to those who look different. Regardless of their race. Period, end of story. (After all, I suppose a baby can look at its arms, and see they're white or brown or black, and expect to see that same coloring in their caregivers, eh?)

I am so sick of "racism". It should be the "R-word" just like the "N-word." It is trotted out to end all discusson. Accuse someone of being a racist, and discussion over. They now must spend the rest of their lives defending themselves from that charge. If they're white, of course. If they're any other color...they get a free pass.

(As for example Shaquille O'Neal and his "mocking" of Yao Ming. Not that I thought that was anything for the Asian community to get in a fuss about, neverthless, it was water off a duck's back. Shaquille's black, he can't be racist.

Geoffrey Holder did indeed speak the truth when he said America was "afraid" to talk about racism. If only because whites aren't allowed to talk about the racism of others, the hate crimes of others. Didn't Professor Gates own mother "hate white people." Isn't that racist?

Racism afflicts every race. Otherwise, there wouldn't be genocidal warfare in the Sudan, in Kenya, in Somalia, etc. etc. and etc.

Saw a headline where the guvmint is trying to "explain" Hilary's outburst. Didn't bother to read it, but frankly, why should she bother to explain it. *She's* the secretary of state, if the press have questions it should be her opinions they are after.

Charities will be hard hit by Cash flor Clunkers

I just thought of this.

For the last 4 days people have been fixing up their old, junky cars good enough to drive, then taking them down to a local car dealership in hopes of getting a new car. The $4,000 "rebate" the car companies are getting is - they are hoping - to be sent by the Government. $4,000 per person, per car. That's a lot of our tax money being poured out.

But that's not the point. The point is - what of those charities that used to get these cars? Not a day went by that I didn't hear a radio announcement from one charity or another, saying that the denotion of a used car would greatly help them out and be tax deductible. And unlike the cash for clunkers program, the car didn't even need to be drivable, they'd come and get it.

But now, with the goverment extending the program, charities aren't going to be getting these cars (why doesn't the government have the cars be given to charities, instead of shredded? Well, because of those evil emissions, I guess.)

But, of course, charities are going to be hard pressed in future, anyway. Rich people used to give thousands and thousands of dollars to charities because they could take it off on their taxes. Soon, that tax "loophole" will be closed, so they won't give as much. (After all, why should they? They're vilified whether they make charitable contributions or not, so why do it? The government will be delighted to step in and pick up the slack... and increase *our* taxes in order to fund any new programs....

2008: Obama called a reporter "Sweetie"

The reporter shouted out a question as Obama walked by. Yeah, perhaps it was kind of rude...wait until you get into the press room... although this is how reporters get answers, by shouting out in hallways.

Obama's response was male chauvanistic in the extreme. Sweetie? How condescending. How dismissive. Would he have responded to a male reporter in the same way, if a male reporter had done the same thing? Well...he couldn't have, I suppose, as that would have raised eyebrows about his sexuality.... Sure, be dismissive of her as a rude reporter, if you like. (How about a, "Wait your turn, please.") But to call her sweetie???

I wonder if he calls his wife that? I'm sure he says to his daughters - that's the term for daughters or wives, not professional women trying to do their job.

It's not really worth watching - it is *impossible* to tell who the players are, let alone who is dunking on who.

I'm not sure if this is *the* confiscated tape, or just a similar tape that someone else made, but the camera is way at the other end of the court, and if you didnt know who the two players were, you wouldn't recognize them. And even if you *do* know who they are, you still wouldn't recognize them - the video is that poor.

Do you all remember the story? LeBron was at a basketball camp, and some kid headed for college dunked on him. No big deal, you'd think, except LeBron approached a Nike representative, who then approached the cameraman and confiscated the tape. Conclusion - LeBron didn't want a tape to leak out showing that he'd been dunked on by a mere college-bound kid.

No fear of that. You can't even see it.

I've been thinking about the reaction of Gates yesterday....

He's just broken into his home... cops come to the door asking about a break-in, and despite the fact that he KNEW he'd just broken into his own home and that by definition that would have looked suspicious, he accuses the cops of harassing him because he's a "black man in America," and accuses them of racial profiling.

I still don't understand that. It's not as if he and the driver were just sitting on the porch mindng their own business waiting for a locksmith to come, and someone calls because there are "two black men sitting on a porch in an all white neighborhood," although one must ask oneself then as well... if there's an all-white neighborhood, isn't is suspicious if some non-whites are there, sitting on a porch, with no white present?

That's not racial profilng, it's just common sense. Let us not forget that most petty crimes are committed by blacks, because more blacks than whites are poor. (And there's nothing racist in that statement of fact, either. Fact of life, most white-collar crime is committed by whites, who have no reason to steal apart from basic dishonesty - it's just that they do the "victimless" crimes of embezzling money, whereas people with no jobs are forced to steal from houses. And of course most politicians are white, and most of them are crooks, too.)

In any event, what if the shoe were on the other foot, and a white person goes into black Harlem. Wouldn't that individual stick out like... well, like a white person in black Harlem? Wouldn't all eyes be on that person, wondering what the heck he, or she, was doing there?

But these days, all a black person has to do is scream Racist and there is no defense.

I'm reminded of a recent incident with Barbara Boxer and some black guy who was supposed to speak before her committee. She was talking about the good that other black organizations have done, like the NCAAP and so on, and this guy just went ballistic on her, calling her "racial" because she dared to list other black organizations that had nothing to do with his. And at the very beginning of his tirade, she had just tried to carry on, because she had no idea why he was so upset. If I may use a sexist simile, he was just like a female beauty contestant throwing a hissy fit because some other girl's attributes had been listed along with hers. Just silly. Just, quite frankly, a guy with a chip on his shoulder ready to regard anything as racist.

The program observer has asked: "How do you think the brothers in Harlem hear this when the first black president says that when he drives through there and he looks at the brothers in Harlem, he says, 'There but for the grace of God go I.' So what must the brothers in Harlem think?" What Obama is saying here is that we're all just winners at life's lottery.

It's all luck, and the government's gonna come in here and make it so there's no luck, and everybody finishes off just as bad as everybody else finishes off -- or ends up just as bad as everybody else ends up. But, folks, the real point about this is, this president promised unity. "We gotta get past all of this. We can't continue to think this way." He's out stoking fires of resentment in this speech. You think of the opportunity he has to inspire but going before this group and saying that? He took the opposite route. This speech didn't inspire anybody. This speech gave them continued reason to be resentful. He reinforced the existing attitude that exists in the race business today. I don't know when's the last time he drove through Harlem anyway. I think Caroline Kennedy was there more recently than he's been there. Didn't she have lunch with Sharpton at the soul food place? Sophie's, is that what it is? Sylvia's, yeah. Sylvia's. I remember that. That's when she blew it. She started eating on camera. No seasoned politician, even Ted Kennedy, eats when there are cameras around. You just don't. You can't possibly look good doing it -- and if you spill something, it's even worse.

Break into a house....get arrested

Based on the article I read, seems like "Henry Louis Gates Jr., the nation's pre-eminent black scholar" has a chip on his shoulder.

He locked himself out of his house, and so broke into it.

A neighbor, who apparenlty didn't know him by sight, called the cops. She saw two black males breaking into a house, and so that's what she told the police. Now, I'm sure if it had been two white males breaking into a house, she'd have told the police it was two white males. But since it was two blacks, she had no choice but to tell the cops it was two blacks breaking into a house.

So the cops arrive. They ask Gates for ID, but he refuses to come out of the house. So, what? THese cops are supposed to recognize that Gates is "the pre-eminent black scholar in the US"?

Had he not had a chip on his shoulder, and simply come outdoors and showed the guys his ID and explained what happened, I seriously doubt if he would have been arrested. But he refused to show the cops his ID, so what choice did they have?

And of course, now Al Sharpton is going to get into the act.

So, here's the lesson. Next time two blacks look like they are breaking into a house, don't call the cops. Let them steal whatever they want. It's all you can do, these days.

Black scholar's arrest raises profiling questions
BOSTON – Police responding to a call about "two black males" breaking into a home near Harvard University ended up arresting the man who lives there — Henry Louis Gates Jr., the nation's pre-eminent black scholar.

Gates had forced his way through the front door because it was jammed, his lawyer said. Colleagues call the arrest last Thursday afternoon a clear case of racial profiling.

Cambridge police say they responded to the well-maintained two-story home after a woman reported seeing "two black males with backpacks on the porch," with one "wedging his shoulder into the door as if he was trying to force entry."

By the time police arrived, Gates was already inside. Police say he refused to come outside to speak with an officer, who told him he was investigating a report of a break-in.

"Why, because I'm a black man in America?" Gates said, according to a police report written by Sgt. James Crowley. The Cambridge police refused to comment on the arrest Monday.

Gates — the director of Harvard's W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research — initially refused to show the officer his identification, but then gave him a Harvard University ID card, according to police.

The Mark Sanford Question

Mark Sanford, the governor of South Carolina, turned down Obama's stimulus money for his state, because of the strings he knew were attached. The guy was a hero...he was primed to run for the 2012 nomination.

Then he pulls a disappearing act. He's hiking the Appilachian trail by himself. His wife doesn't know where he is. His aides don't know where he is, he hasn't been in touch. Then... no, he was actually unwinding in Argentina.

Democrats and some Republicans are saying this was an incredibly stupid thing to do, and that he's torpedoed his chance for the nomination. Others (and I wonder if Limbaugh is among them - I'm currently in a location that doesn't get his show)are saying its no big deal and the Dems are just trying to cause trouble.

My own opinion? The guy's an idiot. If he *was* in touch with his wife and aides all the time, why not say so? Why all the secrecy - which gave the impression that the government of South Carolina was just plain incompetent. It was like the Flyover of New York that caused so much panic. The police knew, but they weren't allowed to tell anyone. That made a heckuva lot of sense.

If Stanford wanted to go away, fine. Just have his press corp say - he's somewhere unwinding. We know where he is but we're not giving out his location.

That would have been 100% better than what did happen.

I frankly wouldn't ever vote for the guy - except perhaps of it was only a choice between him or Obama. If it wasn't stupidity, then there was something fishy going on. But how it was handled was still stupid. You don't say, "We don't know where he is but he does this quite a bit and we're not worried." No, even if that's the truth , you say, "He's taking a break and doens't want the press following him. We know where he is, that's all that matters."

Paulo Serodio Says He Was Harassed, Assaulted After Defining Himself as African-American

Okay, Serodio's great-grandparents came from Portugal, but his family has lived in Mozambique for 3 generations. Serodio was born in Africa, therefore he's African. He moved to the US and obtained American citizenship, therefore he's African American.

What's the big deal?

Well, the big deal is, why was he made to have to define himself "culturally" at all? Isn't the US supposed to be a melting pot? (No, it's supposed to be a multiculturist country where everyone else's culture has to be catered to, and the "american culture" of self-sufficiency has to be left at the wayside.

Here's two sentences from the article:

Filed Monday in U.S. District Court in New Jersey, the lawsuit traces a series of events that Serodio maintains led to his 2007 suspension, starting with a March 2006 cultural exercise in a clinical skills course taught by Dr. Kathy Ann Duncan, where each student was asked to define themselves for a discussion on culture and medicine.

Serodio labeled himself as a white African-American, another student said she was offended by his comments and that, because of his white skin, was not an African-American.

According to the lawsuit, Serodio was summoned to Duncan's office where he was instructed "never to define himself as an African-American … because it was offensive to others and to people of color for him to do so."

Who are these "others"? Self-hating whites who think *they* deserve to be punished for what the culture of the world was like since time began up until about 40 years ago? (As soon as men figured out how to make weapons, the stronger enslaved the weaker.)

and

Zeff pointed out that Serodio only labeled himself after his instructors asked him to do so and was then penalized for it.

The lawsuit claims Serodio began to be harassed by other students who sought disciplinary action against him for his statement in Duncan's class, but was never given a chance to defend his views against the complaints.

What right do students have to seek disciplinary action against him. In a cultural class he defined himself as African American. One class! Big deal!

In September 2006, Serodio said he again asked to define himself culturally as part of another course exercise. Again, according to the lawsuit he said he was a "white African-American." And again, he was called to the course instructor's office and told never to define himself that way again.

According to the lawsuit, Serodio then wrote an article for the student newspaper, titled "A More Colorful View Than Black and White," in an attempt to explain his self-identification and to call for tolerance at the school.

But when complaints started pouring into Dr. I. Thomas Cohen, then the dean of student affairs, the lawsuit alleges that Serodio was called in again and told by Cohen that if he "lay low for awhile" Cohen would see that a record of the incident would not be placed in Serodio's transcript.

I ask again...why is a medical school asking students to "define themselves culturally"?

Sure, doctors these days need to know the ins and outs of dozens of cultures, because God forbid they should actually offend someone in the US by not treating their culture right, and God forbid these immigrants learn our culture and figure out that if something is done that offends *their* culture, it's not because it's a deliberate insult but because that's the way we do things, and they need to be tolerant of our ways.

Wanda Sykes comments about Limbaugh

Much is being made, in certain circles, about Wanda Sykes jokes about Rush Limbaugh at the Press Corps dinner last night...or the night before..whenever it was.

Supposedly she made some jokes about Obama as well, I dn't see them on YouTube. Of course, it's okay for blacks to make jokes about Obama. Catch a white perosn doing it - even the same joke - and of course they'll be branded a racist and probably lose their job. (And I'm not blaming the oversensitive idiots who scream racism, but the companies, etc. who cave to their threats.)

I have to admit that this is the kind of humor that is all the rage these days. Way back in the 1970s the "Dean Martin Roasts" were all the rage, with a variety of comedians putting down the guest of honor. And of course Don Rickles, the king of insult. I've never understood or cared for that kind of humor.

The Hypocrisy of Beauty Pageants

Miss California, Carrie Prejean, was competing to be Miss America, when a gay judge (why would a male gay be judging a woman's beauty pageant?) decided to politicize the contest by asking her if she supported gay marriage. Citing her faith as a Christian, the girl said, No. Perez Hilton, the gay judge, promptly gave her 0 points, causing her to lose the Miss America crown. He also wrote a profanity laden blog entry about her, apparently (I have not read it) criticizing her for daring to answer his question honestly. (Presumably, if she'd lied, but still been homophobic, he'd have voted for her, but because she refused to give her support on national TV, she must be excoriated.)

And then the deification of Carrie Prejean started, with Christian groups praising her for being so brave as to answer such a controversial question honestly. (Because,let's face it. People are not allowed to not be for gay marriage. At least, not to discuss it. They'll get shouted down by demonstrators if they try, much as those who try to explain why illegal immigration is illegal are shouted down.)

But how long will this deification carry on? It has now been revealed that Carrie Prejean, this Christian woman, posed for nude photos. She says she did it when she was 17. People who have seen them say she looks older than 17. But the pageant judges are all upset. Apparently there's some moral clause. If a beauty queen poses for nude photos, she can be stripped of her crown.

And this is just a joke!!!! Prejean has her hands covering her nipples, and is wearing panties. You see those kinds of photos every day in underwear advertisenments.

But more egregious than that is the fact that the beauty pageant people actually paid for this woman to get breast implants!!! Why? Why would they pay for her to get breast implants, and why did she need breast implants any, except for the fact that they wanted her to be more attractive to men, most of whom apparently like big breasted women?

So they want her to be attractive to men, but they don't want her to pose "suggestively." Jeesuz.

Don't get me wrong. I think it is a bit hypocritical for a Christian woman to get breast implants and pose practically nude (if she's got on panties,and is hiding her nipples, she's not really nude).

And I think it's disgusting that any woman will pose like that - for example I believe Kiera Knightly did so, and a few others - and then expect that any man will be able to look at them as other than a sex object again.

It's the same old double standard, though. Take beach volleyball. Guys get to dance around in knee-length bermuda shorts, women have to play in bikinis. Or track and field. If there was any advantage to be gained in wearing bikini bottoms, you know guys would do it. But they don't. The only reason for women to do it, therefore, is so that guys will tune in, or pack the stands, in order to get some eye candy.

I've just turned on Nick - presumably Nickelodian.

The show is a cartoon version of that movie of a few years ago...Barnyard.

So, of course all the animals are walking on their hind legs. Fine.

The male cow, the main character, has udders, just as in the movie. But, ya know, male cows do not have udders! Indeed, it's only the female cattle that are called cows. Male cattle are bulls.

Now, the plot of this particular episode, which I came in when it was almost over, was that some cow thought that the main character, a bull (with udders) was her son. So she wants to get married so he'll have a father. But no bulls will marry her, so she chooses a rat. And the bull character, albeit in a fantasy sequence, sees himself having a half-bull half rat sister. Thereby implying that that big ol' cow is going to have sex with that lil bitty rat...and that different animal species must have sex with each other all the time.

Dis-gusting.

Almost as disgusting as what happens in real life, whcih is that guys go around raping cattle and sheep all the time. I don't think it's possible for a woman to get it on with an animal, although legend has it Catherine the Great tried to do so but I seriously doubt it! Anyway, it's obscene. And it should be illegal.

Then again, the next show on Nickelodeon - that's a kid's channel, ya know - was just as obscene. Another one of those children's programs where the girls lust after the boys and are willing to do anything to get a boyfriend, and the boys lust after the girls and eye tehm as sex candy, etc. etc. etc.

No wonder the US is going into the toilet.

A pregnant woman had a check of her unborn child done, and it turned out it had encephaly. It did not have a brain. Doctors recommended that she abort the child. She didn't. She gave birth to it.

This was not a child with Down's syndrome, who could lead a happy, productive life once born. This was a child who did not have a brain, period.

So, she gave birth. The child has no brain. It cannot see. It cannot think. It will never be able to do anything except lie on its back and be cared for by the mother. Fed with a spoon. Changed every day, for all her life.

It is just obscene that God would allow such a thing to even happen to a baby. It is just obscene that someone who believed in God would give birth to this poor little thing, rather than euthenize it.

If you read the blog, the woman is clearly extremely religious. At one point apparently she allowed Comments to be made on her blog, and people were reacting to her selfishness with disbelief. Of course, this made no impact. Those people are just "agents of Satan". But that's okay, she forgives us.

I cannot forgive her, however. Her baby has...no...brain. It's a vegetable. And yet she clearly believes God has sent this brainless baby to her as a gift.

How a religious person could believe that God is loving and kind after being visited with this type of child... a child with no brain. She's feeling all noble and brave because she's taking care of this brain-less child....that's the thing, of course. She's feeling noble and brave. Everyone should be impressed with her because of what she must be going through.

Bull-pucky. If she had had an accident and was now in a wheelchair or an iron lung or what have you, and bravely decided that she would not let that handicap stop her, because she still had a brain, and could communicate and create and live, that's one thing. But her child... has.... no.... brain.

I don't know how much clearer to put it. There is no quality of life there. If it itches, it can't tell it's mother where. If it has a pain driving it crazy, it can't tell its mother where. Toothace? You'll just have to suffer, kid. Want to watch TV? Oh, sorry, you're blind. Well,at least you can listen to it.. oops, sorry, you're deaf. Well, at least the plot can be signed into the palm of your hand, the way deaf-blind people communicate with each other. Nope, can't even do that... the baby has... no.... brain.

This past weekend, Air Power Over Hampton Roads had a ton of airplanes using up a ton of fuel, to entertain thousands of individuals for free. It was a great show, and great photo ops were had.

Then we get the President's photo op. President Obama, the guy who is saying that Cap and Trade is great, and that we all need to inflate the tires in our cars (that's true, by the way, we should. Visual looks of tires don't give good info.), that gas is okay at $4 a gallon and will hopefully go higher so people will stop driving so much...

And yet when the time comes for a photo opportunity, and an opportunity to scare New Yorkers silly, Obama's minions lose no time doing it.

Supposedly the New York police department was told, but they couldn't tell anyone because it was a secret??? If the president wans't on board that plane, why did it need to be a secret?

What was even the point of it? Photo ops consists of presidents getting out of planes to shake the hands of soldiers or other individuals for a job well done. A Presidential Plane flying next to the Statue of Liberty - something that can't happen anymore anyway - ridiculous!

If that's the case, why was Perez Hilton even allowed to introduce politics into his question? Of course, what the author provided was just an excerpt of the letter, perhaps the letter was blaming Hilton as well as the contestant for Hilton's "gay rage" afterwards.

At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill last week, former Republican Rep. Tom Tancredo came to speak against legislative proposals to provide illegal-immigrant students in-state tuition discounts not available to law-abiding Americans and legal immigrants.

Protesters at the institution of higher learning responded by blocking Mr. Tancredo with massive banners and screaming, "No dialogue with hate." Adults in the room stood by while students smashed a window a few feet from where Mr. Tancredo stood. Physically threatened, Mr. Tancredo was forced to leave without delivering his remarks.

According to campus reports, leftists had prepared for a week to mount a speech-squelching demonstration. The same thuggish tactics have been used at Columbia, Georgetown and Michigan State universities to shut down speakers who support strict immigration enforcement. The UNC administration apologized for the students' tantrum but took no steps to examine its own culpability for fostering a climate of intellectual vandalism and intolerance.

Seems like it was the leftist students who were "hate-filled." They should all be shipped off to Mexico for a month or two, and try doing the same kind of thing down there. The cops would have them in jail so fast (because they'd obviously have money that could be extorted) before you could say Jack Robinson.

But of course that's the thing. You can't have a dialog with the left. They don't want to listen to your reasoned arguments, they want to call you a racist immediately, so that instead of being able to make your reasoned arguments, you're forced to defend yourself from their accusations.

Sad...and a sad state for the US, which is going to become a third world country before very long, thanks to those people....and for all right-minded people who stand by and give them sanction - "the sanction of the victim," as Ayn Rand calls it.

What sicko could even invent a game where a crying baby is silenced by shaking one's IPhone until it dies. (The game ends when the baby's eyes turn into X-es, signifing death.)

Apple on Thursday apologized for offering on its App Store the "deeply offensive" Baby Shaker iPhone application that sparked protests from groups fighting infant abuse.
The company acknowledged that it made a "mistake" approving the application, which depicts a crying baby and has users quiet the infant by vigorously shaking the smartphone. The quieted baby is shown with crosses on its eyes to indicate it's dead.

Their apology:

"This app is deeply offensive and should not have been approved for distribution on the App Store," an Apple spokeswoman told InformationWeek. "We sincerely apologize for this mistake."

She declined to discuss whether the incident indicated that the company's approval process was less than foolproof and in need of review. "We do have a process and this was a mistake," she said. "I don't have any comment beyond that."

Sounds sincere to me.

If you're poor or middle class, I don't think lawyers and judges will care a great deal about where your money goes. You can leave it to your mistress or your dog, and they don't care. It's what you wanted.

When you leave billions of dollars in money, and you specify that that money is ALL supposed to go to dog-related charities, you can bank on your bequests NOT being carried out. So, if those are really your wishes, the only thing to do is start liquidating your estate while you are still alive, and making donations to the charities of your choice, rather than bequests.

But a surrogate court judge ruled in February that trustees for the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust had sole authority to decide which charities benefit from her estate.

"Throughout their lives, the Helmsleys were committed to helping others through the innovations of medical research of responding to those in need during critical times and in other areas," the trustees said in a statement Tuesday. "We now have the privilege of continuing their good works by providing support where it will make a difference."

So much for trusting trustees.

Valley couple can't kick stranger out

SPOKANE -- A stranger moves into the backyard of an elderly Spokane couple's property and now they can't get that woman to leave.

The woman has been living in their garage for almost a month but even so police say she isn't trespassing because police say the property owner's son invited the woman to live in that garage.

Since when should that even matter? The son doesn't own that property, this elderly couple does! The fact that they don't have the right to evict a squatter is beyond obscene.

It all started when Don allowed his stepson to move into the garage three months ago.

"He moved different people in, he had as high as eight people in here at different times and we told him no you stay there and no one else," Bain said.

When Don asked for the guests, including the woman to move out there was a confrontation and his stepson was arrested and taken to jail. The woman and another man stayed without a lease and not a dime paid for rent.

"She don't even pay the light bill," Bain said.

Don called police, hoping they'd be forced to leave, but police say the woman isn't trespassing.

"First of all we understand this is a frustrating situation for the Bains, but she was allowed to live in this facility," Lt. Stephen Jones with the Spokane Valley Police Department said.

Police say it doesn't take much to establish residency...

"There's no cut and dry test for this other than she's been living there for a period of time, her belongings are there and the current resident invited her in and allowed her to live there," Lt. Jones said.

Um, Lt. Jones... the current resident is in jail, and he didn't own the place he was living in, either!

This is just ridiculous, but no more ridiculous than having to allow homeless people to take up space in public libraries and so on.

Round up the homeless and send them to Madagascar or somewhere where they can make their own living off the land, and take them off the public purse. Any immigrants who are homeless - assuming they're illegals - send them back where they came from.

When I was a kid growing up, the Frito Bandito was on all the airwaves. And I loved that character! But of course he had to go, because he was apparently insulting to Mexicans.

Now Burger King has just launched a new "Tex-Mex" burger in Spain, and it most defnitely is insulting to Mexicans..all you have to look at it. Tall cowboy, short, fat Mexican.

And I'm wondering - did they have their Spanish advertising people come up with this, or did they come up with this gem in the USA? I mean, you're trying to sell something to Spaniards, why would you want to show someone short and fat... that's not the way to do it!

I just wonder sometimes if advertising people have ulterior motives... but even if they do, surely the people buying the advertising are smart enough to know when something is offensive? I mean - if that fat, short Mexican had been a fat short woman, the reaction would have been the same, surely.

It's one thing to be ridiculously politically correct, and its quite another to be stupid. A blustering bandito is funny, kind of like a Mexican Yosemite Sam, but a short, fat guy matched up against a tall lean cowboy... how can they not see that that would be offensive? (Never mind the fact that they use the Mexican flag like a cape - which is tabu in Mexico. Quite a change from the US, where you can burn the US flag without fear of recrimination. Freedom of speech, don'tcha know.)

But then, what do I know? A few years ago there was some kind of campaign where a lot of black guys went around saying, "Yo." I thought for sure that would be pulled quickly because it was offensive, making them look stupid, instead, it turned out to be extremely popular.

ANd quite a few times I've seen a commercial about phone service in Barbados, making the Barbadians look like total idiots. It's funny, but they do look stupid. And yet, it doesn't seem to have been pulled, either, and I would have thought people of color would have thought it offensive.

A couple of days ago, an Angels pitcher, Nick Adenhart, was killed by a hit and run driver. Two other people in the car with him were also killed, but of course since the pitcher, being so high-profile, is the one getting all the press.

Until today when a website called TMZ printed a photo of the woman who was killed, Courtney Stewart.

This site allows people to comment on their articles, and for every 3 or 4 comments that express their sorrow at the waste of such young lives, or anger at the killer and his driving drunk and with a suspended license, there is at least 1 vile comment by someone actually expressing joy that this young woman is dead.

Of course these people don't have to use their correct names when they post - that's the anonymous safety of the internet. It's too bad, because I'd really like to track each one of them down, frogmarch them into a bathroom, and stick their head into a toilet for several minutes. (To be sure, if they're too big, I'd hire someone to do it... neverthless, no more than what they deserve. They are as big a waste of air, space and food as the loser who killed them in the first place.

Yet PETA has seized upon the fact that Vice President Biden bought a dog from a breeder, saying that it meant a dog at a shelter was killed (yet - most pets in PETA care are killed) and now this poor women is getting death threats and being harassed by various agencies.

She was found "not guilty" for each citation, but hiring a lawyer for the court hearings has cost her $4,000 so far in legal fees.

Brown says she and Biden both received death threats from animal activists.

The family of a man who was stabbed to death by teenage thugs after he asked them to keep the noise down have been denied compensation - because he tried to fight off his killers.

Kevin Johnson, 22, was brutally murdered by the gang who invited him to 'meet Mr Stanley' during a confrontation outside his home moments before plunging a blade into his chest, arm and back.

The young father collapsed a few feet from his front door whilst the trio - aged 19, 16 and 17 - ran off in 'triumphant mood' before stabbing their second victim a short distance away.

According to the CICA the parents, child, husband, wife or partner of a person who died as a result of a violent crime can claim up to £11,000 for the loss of their life.

Since when does a 12-year-old girl get to sue a parent for being grounded for breaking the rules of the home???

This wasn't a case of physical or emotional abuse, but rather of a spoiled brat, apparently, who didn't want to obey her father's rules.

The court should never have accepted the case in the first place, but should certainly never have judged for the 12-year-old girl.

Parents already can't spank their children. Now they can't ground them? Soon they probably won't even be able to touch them without permission from the state!

Here's the video of Obama nodding to the Queen and King of England. Then, when he meets the Saudi King, he doesn't nod his head, he bows down low...something that Americans - nor anyone else except subjects to that king - do!

I already posted this once. The reason I'm posting it again is because the White House (albeit an anonymous spokesperson) is denying that Obama actually bowed. It's just that Obama was so much taller than the Saudi king that when he nodded his head it only seemed as if he were bowing.

Jeez. They know people were stupid enough to vote for Obama, do they really think they're stupid enough to watch the video with their own eyes and not be able to tell that he's not nodding, he's bowing?

The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right and praise from some Arab outlets.

"Obama wished to demonstrate his respect and appreciation of the personality of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, who has made one of the most important calls in the modern era, namely the call for inter-faith and inter-cultural dialogue to defuse the hatred, conflict and wars," wrote the columnist, Muhammah Diyab.

So...if Obama really did bow, why not just say so. Why try to deny it with such a lame excuse?

Religion = stupid traditions

Many years ago, I read about some orthodox Jewish community in New York (or some other city, can't really remember which one) that wanted to put little signs on various lamp posts in the blocks surrounding the community, which would symbolically make the area part of the home. This was because orthodox Jewish women aren't allowed to leave their homes during the weekend, but they wanted to do so. So, by putting these little symbols on the lightposts and so on, they would be able to say that they were legitimately still in their homes despite the fact that they were going down to the market to buy food, etc. etc.

And I thought....my god how stupid is this.

(And after a little research, I find that it has happened as late as 2008. The symbol is called a Eruv. Jews - even guys I guess, aren't supposed to carry things, or cross boundary lines on the Sabbath, but of course since they don't want to be inconvenienced, they put up an Eruv - some stupid little sign that means nothing at all - so they can feel okay about breaking one of their laws.

An Eruv is just a path essentially, through properties in a community. The Eruv or pathway is commonly held by the local orthodox community and permits free travel on the Sabbath. The Laws of Moses which now are enforced in the Talmud prohibit various forms of travel on the Sabbath, including prohibiting carrying any objects, including groceries, children, in thoroughfares or anywhere that crosses property lines. Its a broad prohibition against unorthodox travel on the Hebrew holy day. Unfortunately these laws were written for Jews living on Judean soil during ancient times. Today being widely dispersed in our communities, its hard for them to set these up. Basically Jewish law permit strolling through a courtyard on the Sabbath, thus, the community effectively creates a courtyard that runs through peoples yards and properties to allow kosher travel on the Sabbath.

Now we get another stupidity that has been apparently going on for 2,000 years.

A creative way to deal with Passover food ban

At 9 this morning, New Brunswick resident Jose Mendez, a non-Jew, will become owner of a huge amount of food he'll never eat.

For the entire length of Passover, which starts tonight and ends next Thursday at sundown, Mendez will legally possess thousands of bags and boxes of bread, pasta and other leavened foods, or chametz, stored in the homes of Jewish people from the East Brunswick Jewish Center.

Once Passover ends, ownership will uneventfully revert back to the original owners.

Similar deals are struck -- usually for $1 or no money at all -- between Jews and non-Jews around the world each Passover, and have been for centuries. The switch in legal possession is seen as helping Jews fulfill the biblical commandment against eating or owning leavened foods during the holiday, without having to dispose of large quantities of forbidden foods and suffer substantial financial loss.

So, instead of making an effort to use up all their leavened foods before passover, so they won't own any for that week, they just do this deal where they "symbolically" hand it over to a non-Jewish person, even though the food stays in their house and they really own it.

How ridiculous is that?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not an anti-Semite. I'm an anti-ridiculousite. I'd say the same thing about those Catholics and their little tradition of eating a piece of bread and drinking wine and having some ashes put on their forehead, or the Muslim traditions of women having to wear burkhas on their head, and all the guys praying seven times a day.

When people get up in front of a microphone in front of thousands of people in an audience and millions more watching at home (well, since this was a political speech, maybe a few dozens watching at home) I suppose it's easy to have a slip of the tongue here and there. Heck, sports broadcasters do it all the time.

And as people have commented on this video at YouTube, other politicians have made simiar gaffes. Apparently Dan Quayle said he had to learn more Latin so he could converse better with people in Latin America...and I'm sure Quayle was smart enough to know they speak Spanish all throughout that area...just a slip of the tongue...

Nevertheless it's amusing...

A reporter asks Obama a question... and I must say he looks so smug and arrogant out there with that little smile on his face....you can tell he thinks everyone in the room idolizes him.... maybe they do...

Here's the thing... I don't watch those late night shows like Jay Leno or Conan O'Brien or David Letterman, but you know they excoriated Bush over his idiosyncratic use of the English language - like the way he pronounced nuclear, the use of the term "strategery" and so... what I want to know is, when are they going to start making jokes about Obama and his teleprompter, or his gaffes with the language? (From believing there are 57 states to reading out someone else's speech, to giving the British PM DVDs which don't even work in England...)

All the news is about Michelle Obama. Some are saying that she broke protocol by touching the Queen. Just saw another article that spun it thusly "Michelle Charms Queen into Breaking Protocol."

Yeah, right.

But, while Michelle and her designer dresses are being thoroughly covered, the fact that President Obama actually bowed down to the King of Saudi Arabia is not even mentioned. I think it's safe to assume that Obama isn't going to be giving this King 50 DVDs either. (I don't know if a Japanese diplomat bows when he meets people, after all, bowing is part of Japanese culture. But it is not a part of American culture...but perhaps its a part of Islamic culture? Hmmm?)

Interestingly, I've never heard anyone criticize the oil sheiks. Everyone in their country lives in poverty except the oil sheiks who have gazillions of cars, gazillions of wives and gazillions of children... and yet it's American businessmen that are being stigmatized, or "American oil companies" and so on.

I'm about to tune in to Rush Limbaugh to see if he's going to make a big deal out of it.

It isn't. The Queen of England touched Michelle Obama on the back when she was showing her something, Michelle merely returned the favor. After all, if someone touches you - in a non-sexual manner, they are implicitly givng you permission to touch them back. It was two women, one very old, not two men, for goodness sake.

But yes, apparently protocol says the Queen can touch you, but you must never, ever touch her, and Michelle Obama broke the rule. Frankly, considering that the world is on the edge of the abyss, it's a non-story. I'd like to see how untouched the Queen would be if she tried to walk amongst the mom rioting in front of the bank of Scotland. They'd do a lot more than touch her on the back.

In reading the articles around the world, I really do despair for the country. Capitalism is over, socialism is coming to the forefront... wealthy people will soon be attacked by the poor and stripped of all their belongings.

It's happening in Mexico even now. At least 5 people a day, probably more, are being kidnapped and demands sent to their "wealthy" relatives in the US.

Then there's the case of 9 absolute wastes of space who have visited an Emergency Romm in Texas practically every day for the last five years... well, I'm paraphrasing..... but an emergency room visit averages a cost of $1,000 per visit, so these 9 people, drug addicts, have gotten millions of dollars of free health care. Gee...I wonder if the AIG execs get free health care, or if they use some of their money to actually buy their health insurance?

But, of course, if you suggest that those 9 people be euthanized, there's be such an uproar. But, why not? They contribute nothing, they will never contribute anything....they are just a waste of space and always will be.

In a preview of the Jay Leno taping, various people saw that, at the end of his 40-minute segment, he compared his bowling skills that of the Special Olympics.

(And frankly, I'm with Fox on that. Anything you can do to get research to stop that or any other horrible disease.. stemcells or whatever, go for it.)

One should never make comparisons to Adolph Hitler lightly. Hitler was a vicious man who instigated the Holocaust - and to me the Holocaust means the Jews, the Gypsies, the Commies, the Gays, etc, everyone who suffered under Nazi regime.

But what is the one thing people said about Hitler, when the economy and later the war wasn't going well? He had great personal charm, he was able to inspire people (albeit by demonizing entire races of people - the Slavs, the Jews, the Gypsies), and when the country was falling down around their ears, the people never said - "It's Hitler's fault." No, they said, "If only Hitler knew what was going on, he wouldn't allow this."

Now, Bush was likened to Hitler by somebody for his at one time secret "renditions" - grabbing up people and imprisoning them without trial for years on end, etc., and frankly, I've got to agree that that certainly seemed like stormtrooper policy. But (yeah, I know there's always a but) he was doing it against terrorists who were out to *blow up* buildings and kill thousands of people.)

Now, can Obama be compared with Hitler? I think he can. Not for any policies that might lead to the destruction of peoples such as the Jews, but the fact that, no matter how incompetent the people around him look, he is not blamed. But the people around him are the ones he chose.

Get out of jail -- paid

In England, as in the US, there is a dearth of prison space for inmates, so people are being let out early. As in the US as well, sometimes the people let free early should not have been. But, that's not the point of this article.

What is the point is that these people are let out of jail early because there's no room for them... yet they are being given the money it would have cost to keep them in jail.

Where is the savings in that? (There is none. 5 million pounds have been given to these criminals. Better than spending 5 million pounds on them in jail? No, because many of them simply reoffend when they get out, so they can be sent back to cushy prison, while the people they've harmed are left to try to recover as best they can.)

One would have thought that when criminals get out of jail, they return to their families and get on with their lives through local programs to help them. But to be "recompensed" for not being in jail any more? That's downright ludicrous!

Latest tragedy...one of many that occurs every day..

Man walked into a church during Sunday services, shot and killed the pastor, and then was subdued.

Here's what one of the religious folks had to say:

"Our great God is not surprised by this, or anything," Nate Adams, executive director of the Illinois Baptist State Association, said in a statement. "That He allows evil and free will to have their way in tragedies like this is a mystery in many ways. But we know we can trust Him no matter what, and draw close to Him in any circumstances."

So what's better to believe...that human beings are human beings, responsible for their own actions and with no greater power watching them by night and day, or...that there is a God.... who does watch every human being on earth every second of the day.... and lets an innocent person be murdered, an innocent baby be beaten to death...an innocent woman have acid thrown in her face....thousands of people killed by a mudslide....millions of people killed by a "Holocaoust" ya da ya da ya da.

Frankly, I'd much rather believe there was no god (which I do), because if there is a god, what a sick god he is...

Hannity must not listen to Rush Limbaugh

Ealier today, Limbaugh played quotes from the Fiscal Responsibility Summit, about McCain telling Obama that he and his group had talked about Obama's 26 Marine One helicopters.

Now - Limbaugh pointed out that this fleet was ordered under Bush's watch, not Obama's....

So when Hannity talks about this in the first few minutes of his show, he makes it sound as if it was Obama who wanted this fleet, and it was only because of what McCain had said that Obama decided to cancel, or at least review, it's purchase.

So, this Marine One debacle can't be held at Obama's door. Limbaugh knows this, and made a point of saying it. Does Hannity know this, and elected to hide it? Or does he not know that it was a Bush item?

So that's a black mark against Hannity. (I hope it's not considered racist to use the term "black mark" anymore?)

But what I'm curious about is this.

The Fiscal Responsibility Summit

How many of these groups separated out to talk about Fiscal Responsiblity for a whole 2 hours, and who gave them the topics to talk about?

Because when McCain comes back and mentions that they spent two hours talking about the Marine one fleet, Obama says, "Oh, yeah, I've already had discusions about that and I don't see a need for it."

So I'm like... if this isn't an issue, why did you have McCain and his group talk about it for two hours? Why didn't you give them something relevant to discuss?

This Fiscal Responsibility meeting was apparently only a "one-shot" thing. Transcripts won't be sent out to the participants for 30 days. After that.... what's supposed to happen, I wonder?

As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure that doctors and people - at least people prior to today's generation, who don't know anything - have known this for decades. That's why people have always been cautioned to watch their tempers and keep calm, because anger sends up their blood pressure and causes heart attacks!

One wonders how much these studies cost, to tell doctors what they must have already known.

The black community is all in an uproar about the New York Post article that likens Obama's stimulus bill to that insane rampaging chimpanzee that had to be shot a few days ago after it attacked and practically skinned a woman.

Because it's a chimpanzee, and because Obama'a black, it was obviously racist. The paper tried to hold out for a while, but it was no good.

Then of course there's Barbara Walters, whom one black pundit said "had a teachable lesson" on The View a couple of days ago, because she didn't understand what the fuss was about. Is it because the chimpanzee was colored black? she asked. No, it's because it was just a chimpanzee, and some black kids have been verbally abused by being called monkeys, so now it can never be used to describe anyone's behavior.

So thousands of white parents, who see their kids, or their kids along with other kids, climbing in trees and acting like monkeys, will now no longer be able to yell, "You monkeys get down from there!" on the offchance that one of the kids in the tree might be black and be offended.

Have A Day Laborer Who Needs A Bike? Steal One

Here's the video of the loading dock of the Byrd Insitute, where Abdul Rao, who makes $380,000 a year, drives up with his day laborer. They get out, look at two bikes leaning against a railing - both of them unlocked - takes one and leaves the other.

Now, I admit. If I see a bike lying on its side on the side of the road, I assume it's been stolen and abandoned. 90% of the time, that's the case. (I live in an upper middle class neighborhood, and if a bike isn't locked, it's gone.)

However, a bike propped against a railing? First off, of course it's stupid to leave a bike unlocked... but apparently at least two people did it! Is this loading dock known as a place where people abandon their bikes?

But, if you read the article, Rao said he was going to bring the bike back (and indeed did so) - so obviously he didn't think the bike was abandoned.

The thing is, Rao makes $380,000 a year. If his day laborer needs a bike, why not just buy him one for $100 or so! Instead of obviously going scavenging for a bike!

Of course, people try to make political hay out of this. Most people who teach and work for Institutes of higher learning are Democrats, and one could say that this is the Democratic mindset in action. You make a lot of money, you've got a day laborer who needs a bike. Dont' spend your money. Spread the wealth around - take a bike from someone else.

Republicans...cant see their ideology of standing on your own two feet and earning the money to buy your own possessions permitting this. Of course there are people who vote Republican who are criminals. Indeed, there are plenty of Republican politicans who are criminals - my belief is that all politicians in either party are crooks - but the ideology of the party itself would look down upon this. Euphemisms
It's interesting....it used to be, women who didnt' get married but had kids were called "unmarried" mothers. Whereas women who got married, had kids, and then got divorced and had custody of their kids, were called, "divorced" mothers.

But, of course, those words are "pejorative", so now, every woman without a husband who is raising kids is called a "single" mother, and there's no way of knowing if they're having babies out of wedlock, in which cases the chances are very likely that the mom is on welfare and it is *our* tax money paying to raise these children, or if they're a divorced mom who is getting alimony from their ex-spouse and therefore is probably not on welfare. (Unless of course the ex-spouse has a $6 hour job at Walmart, in which case, again, they shouldnt' have had a child to begin with.)

Sure, in a perfect world, every woman who wants children has the right to have them. Howevever, a woman who cannot support herself, let alone any children she may give birth to, does *not* have the right to have children, because people do *not* have the right to increase the tax burden of other citizens by having children they cannot afford to have!

Sure, there are exceptions. Someone has a well-paying job, decides to have a child, gets pregnant, then loses her job for whatever reason and can't get another, and thus needs assistance - temporarily - until finding a new job. But those are exceptions. 90% of unmarried mothers are the ones having these babies that they could not afford even before they got pregnant, but secure in the knowledge that they would get welfare, they went ahead on.

And, of course, there's no way to stop it. Religious orders won't let you teach people to use birth control, certain feminist groups say reproduction is a basic female right (I'm a feminist - but I believe in equality!), and the Democrats want as many welfare mouths to feed as possible, to keep them in power.

The policy bans U.S. taxpayer money, usually in the form of U.S. Agency for International Development funds, from going to international family planning groups that either offer abortions or provide information, counseling or referrals about abortion. It is also known as the "global gag rule," because it prohibits taxpayer funding for groups that lobby to legalize abortion or promote it as a family planning method.

I simply don't understand religious people. What's worse, to not be born at all, or to be born and live for a couple of years in total and abject mistery before you die of starvation?

There's a sentence in the bible, I've been told. "The poor are always with you. They were put here to keep us charitable."

Pish, tosh. The reason the poor are always with us, is because people aren't allowed to practice birth control, so when they have a little comfort-giving sex, a baby comes along 9 months later, and since they can't afford that baby, they stay poor, and the US (and other countries that pay out welfare to people who have children they can't afford) stays poor as well.

Yes - the US is a poor country. All our money is an illusion, as this recent banking crisis has only made clear. It is absolutely incredible to me that Chief Justice Roberts, who administered the oath of office to Barack Obama, screwed up the words. And then Obama, who apparently knew the words but was confused because Roberts was telling him the wrong ones, muffed up, as well.

This is what the United States of America has come to. I always knew all of our politicians were crooks intent on lining their own pockets, but over the course of the last two years it has become clear that they are intent on destroying this country as a Republic, and are intent on installing socialism, to which end they have destroyed our economy.

Come on, people! If you can believe that George Bush would order the Twin Towers to be destroyed so he could declare war on Iraq for oil, is it too much of a stretch to believe that various Democrats, in particular Barney Franks, manipulated our banking system and Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to such an extent that they would fail and have to be bailed out... given money for which they did not have to account (Democrats wrote that bail out bill, then blamed Bush when it didn't include accountability)!

The US is doomed, folk. Doomed. We're going to be turned into a socialist, third world country.

Time For Parents to Sit in Classrooms

In Kansas City, Missouri, an entire class of kids - 65 of them - failed their math test.

The teacher sent a letter to these kids' parents, pointing out that it was their kid's disruptive behavior in class that caused them to fail.

Of course the parents are just real upset about this - if their kids are illiterate or can't do math, it's not their fault for raising scummy kids, it's the school's fault for not being able to shove the info into their little brat's heads by osmosis.

About 65 students were the subject of the scathing letter that offended several parents. They were upset that the letter pointed at student behavior as a reason for widespread failure.

Math teacher Janice Wilson Todd said in the letter, "Unfortunately, behavior in Algebra I and Geometry has been a serious problem and has almost halted the learning process."

She referred to her two algebra classes where every student failed the final and her honors geometry class where only three students earned a passing grade.

Parents were offended their children were being blamed for what they said was a failure on the part of the school.

Here's the thing. Parents have a responsibility to sit down with their kids and help them do their homework, or at least make sure they do their homework.

Of course, if the parents didn't graduate high school themselves, they'll have a hard time helping their kids.

And since teachers aren't allowed to discipline kids anymore, there's nothing the teacher can do to restore order in the classroom.

The only solution, that I can see, is for these parents to sit in the classrooms with their kids, and see just what "disruptive" behavior their kids get up to. And if these parents actually learn a little sumpin sumpin at the same time, it's all good.

Meanwhile, a Christian man is upset because there are Buddhas at the Kansas City Zoo. Since statues of Crosses or Christ aren't allowed on public property, he doesn't think Buddhas should be allowed in the Zoo - in their Asian themed sector.

And, well, gee, one person has complained, in all the years that those Buddhas have been there, and yet the Zoo Board is going to "review" his complaint. And ya just know - those buddhas are going to be removed. Who said one person doesn't have the power to change anything?

One person complains about a book in a library - it's gone. One person complains about a cross in front of a public building, it's gone. One person complains about Buddhas in a zoo and they're gone.

For myself, I'm an atheist, and I could care less. Indeed, I'd much prefer Christian symbols to be left in front of buildings, et al. As a woman, I feel a lot safer living in a Christian country than a Muslim one.

Shabana’s body was found slumped on the ground, strewn with bank notes, CDs of her dance performances and pictures from her photo album. In case anyone had not grasped the message the local Taliban commander Maulana Shah Dauran broadcast a warning on one of its FM radio stations in the valley: his men had killed her and if any other girls were found performing in the city’s Banr Bazaar they would be killed "one by one".

This weekend the last of the bazaar’s dancing girls, many of whom had trained under Shabana’s wing and lived in her house, were seen loading their belongings on to trucks and fleeing to the relative safety of Karachi and Lahore, where their talents remain in great demand.

The banishment marks a key turning point in the battle for the Swat Valley between Taliban militants and the Pakistan Army. It followed recent orders to close down girls’ schools in the valley, shut shops selling music CDs and films, and edicts on barbers to stop shaving beards.

The performances of the dancing girls in Banr Bazaar had been one of the city’s last "vices", but in the narrow street where, until last week, they plied their trade, signs were posted on doors stating: "We have stopped dancing, please do not knock on the door." The street now closes at 8pm and only those who live there can leave or enter.

More than 1,000 girls have now fled, though some who remained told The Daily Telegraph that Shabana had paid the price for publicly defying the Taliban’s radio mullahs and that she had ignored personal warnings to stop the performances and the training of young dancers in her home.

"On the eve of January 2, some men knocked at the door and asked for a dance party," said Shabana’s father Qamar Gul. "She instantly agreed and opened the room and asked the men to wait while she prepared herself." When she returned the four men said: "Let us start." They seized her at gunpoint and told her they were going to slit her throat.

Shabana begged repeatedly while crying for help but they dragged her out of the house, took her to the Green Square and shot her.

Fayaz, a Banr Bazaar resident, said he had now moved to a safer part of the city, and only arranges dance events for selected known clients.

He said dancing could earn about 50,000 rupees (£415) a night, but the business was now finished. The Taliban had denounced the dancing as prostitution, he said, but only 1 per cent of the community was involved.

Farzana, a Banr Bazaar dancer who has moved to Peshawar, said: "We are here for a temporary period. We entertain only selected people and not everyone because we are threatened even in Peshawar. Several of our colleagues have already shifted to Lahore and Karachi, but Banr Street is where we opened our eyes, passed our youth and have acquaintances and fans."

No Buzz on Jimmy Carter's Habitat For Humanity Homes Falling Down?

A few days ago, a British newspaper reported that a group of people in Florida were suing Habitat for Humanity because their homes were infested with roaches, improperly built, etc. Rush Limbaugh mentioned it on his show - of course he's blaming Jimmy Carter to the hilt for building substandard homes.

What Limbaugh never mentioned is that Habitat for Humanity has professional home builders who inspected every bit of the construction, and who also did the difficult work - like air conditioning and electricty - no he wants to get in his digs at Jimmy Carter.

What Limbaugh never brought to the table was the fact that many other people who live in this development point out that they live in Florida, where houses degrade if you don't take care of them properly, and if you've got roaches, get a can of roach killer - it's not Habitat for Humanity's job to keep giving you free things after they've given you a free house.

The national media here in the United States has not picked up this story - whether because it's a) critical of Jimmy Carter or b) critical of the poor who live in free houses and don't know how to take care of them and wouldn't anyway - government better just move them to their next free house.

Never mind the fact that the only problem ever reported with Habitat for Humanity is at this Florida site - where again, it's Florida, hot humid weather, and if you dn't have people taking care of "their" home, "their" home is going to crumble away, and that isn't the government's fault.

And there's also a very good point. Obviously all of these people are too poor to be able to afford lawyers - it would be interesting to know how much these lawyers are charging for their "pro bono" work. $500 an hour perhaps, rounded up in increments of half hours, perhaps? So when they get their settlement from Habitat for Humanity, which of course they will, the lawyers will get most of the money and the poor people will receive enough money to buy the cans of Raid they should have bought in the first place!

Many consumers could be without TV signals soon, and the Consumers Union is not happy about it.

The transition to digital TV is supposed to take place by February 17. Here's the thing - digital televisions have been on sale for over a decade. Very few people have analog sets any more - of these, the majority are secondary tvs that people keep in their kitchens, to have noise on while they're eating their food.

Nowhere in the bill of rights does it say that it is a god-given right that the government has to make sure that everyone can watch television. Yeah - apparently it's every kid's right to have a computer - hence all the free computers in libraries - in which kids typically play on social sites - where they can get dates and stuff, not to learn how to work with computers so they can get good jobs in that sector.

I don't usually read gossip - and find the fact that gossip on celebretries to be so prevalent on the net rather sad. So it was just today that I looked at Yahoo's Gossip Email, someone had asked "Why do the Travolta's live in Florida," and of course the response gets in a few tweaks on their wealth and the fact that they spend their money on stuff us poorer people can only dream about (but we do dream about it, eh? And would if we could.)

But the email to which people are supposed to send their questions really torques my jaws. It's called "Answerbitch." I was offended by that and I sent them an email telling them so. As far as I know, bitch is still considered a derogatroy term and as far as I'm concerned, it should remain so, not be converted to yet another filthy word that people say without even thinking about it (like pimp, dyke, etc.)

Secondly, I'm watching Law & Order, an episode called Chattel. The premise is that white folk are "adopting" black folk from Haiti, but instead of treating them as children and part of a family, they're being treated as slaves. Well, here's the thing. That does go on - but it's people from Haiti, and Africa, who have brought these children over here and treat them this way - not ordinary whites! This is just a blatant attempt to make the US appear as if racism is out of control - and yet they're avoiding the very real problem that this child slavery is not white on black but black on black! (Similarly - white slavery still exists, and that's whites being kidnapped and sent over to the third world countries. And Chinese illegal immigrants are used in the sex trade as well - by other Chinese...)

(Similarly, Brinks has done a few commercials recently, for their home security system. Every time, it's a white woman in a big house, doing whatever, when two men - two white men - try to break in, and are chased away by the alarm. Well, of course they don't dare use black actors as the burglars, that would be racism! (On the other hand, they don't have the white guys trying to break into a black woman's house, presumably that would also raise issues to places where they don't want to go).

Don't get me wrong - Im not saying there aren't white racists in America. There's a lot of hatin' people out. What I am saying is that racism extends across all colors of the spectrum, and I'm sick and tired of whites being singled out as the only ones who are racist.

I mean, just take a look at the history of Africa in the present day. It's Africans massacring Africans over there, all because they're the wrong tribe - the wrong race. Hutus vs Tsutsis in Rwanda. Or the January 2008 massacre of the Kikuyus of Kenya by members of the Kalenjin, Luhya and Luo tribes - women and children who'd sought sanctuary in a church, which young men from those three tribes then proceeded to burn to the ground with the kids inside - all because the wrong tribe's man had been elected to be president.

You just have to laugh.

Newark is a city with a large criminal element.... most large cities are.... and in order to protect their businesses from thieves, a lot of businesses put up barbed or razor wire on top of their fences, to prevent thieves from climbing over.

But...oh no! People who try to climb over barbed wire get hurt! And we can't have that! So the barbed wire has to come down!

And the crime rate goes up.

Frankly, I'm surprised that the crooks that try to climb over barbed wire, and injure themselves, don't sue the place they were trying to steal from, for making it so dangerous to enter their place. You can just bet some lawyers are working up a few lawsuits in that regard!

Never Ending Hatred

How can it be possible to bring peace to Earth? Answer - it's not possible.

Take Israel, Hamas, and the Gaza strip, for example.

Hamas launches rockets into Israsel from the Gaza strip.

Hamas can't be killed in the normal way - they take refuge behind women and children. Most people, raised right, would call that pretty cowardly and not support them, but it doesn't seem to affect the people in the Gaza strip. All they see is that Israel launches their attacks on Hamas, despite the fact that women and children will be killed as well.

So the families of these victims conceive their hatred for Israel, and will turn around and become Hamas themselves, in order to get their revenge. It's like a hydra... each time one psychotic murderer is killed, ten more will take their place.

Oh great and glorious god, with your "plan." Ya think you could come down and point out exactly which religious sect actually worships the right god. You could put an end to all this suffering yourself, ya know. (Irony alert. Gotta tell you, I dont understand anyone who could worship a God - whether a Muslim or Christian god - who would actually stand by and watch such carnage believing that it's "God's will" to test them! Any such god is, by defnition, a psycho.)

Wait until all the facts are in before judging

No, I'm not talking about the Rod Blagoyovich scandal, although that's an example of what I'm talking about. Blagoyovich tried to sell Barack Obama's senate seat, and there was a firestorm of controversy about it. (Too bad Fitzgerald didn'twait until he'd actually *sold* the seat before taking action, so both Blagoyovich and the man who bought it could be put in jail.)

But, the thing is, as the firestorm has waned, the truth has come out - which is that Rod Blagoyovich, dishonest as he is, did nothing that every other politician doesn't do - "horse trading" - exchanging positions for favors. Blagoyovich should go to jail, sure, but so should every other politician - they're all crooks, and shame on us for putting up with it.

But, what I'm talking about is a case in Phoenix Arizona. A cat was stuck in a tree in a police officer's yard for 8 days. The cop wouldn't let people onto his property to get the cat. I just saw a video about this, which presents everything from the side of the cat's owner, etc and makes the cop look like a jerk.

Then I checked a news article, which points out the cat is now rescued and is fine, but people are so incensed by the story that they're sending death threats to the cop and, very bravely, scrawling threatening messages on his sidewalk.

And if you look at it from the cop's point of view, he does have a point. If people come in to his yard trying to get that cat, and fall off their ladders and get hurt - they will sue him for everything he has.

Even if they sign waivers promising they won't, the courts will still allow them to do so - this has been documented in several cases.

How many innocent people have lost their life savings because some teenagers disregarded "NO trespassing" signs, walked onto private property, and stepped on a power line or something and got killed, and were still awarded millions of dollars because of the "negligence" of the homeowner.

There was the case of a train yard, a couple of years ago. Two teenagers broke in, past lots of signs saying No Trespassing and Danger, and touched some electrical wires, burning them so badly that I think they actually lost some limbs. And of course it was all the train yard's fault for being negligent, and they had to pay a ton of money to these people.

Pretty soon private pilots are going to be taxed and insured out of business. If a pilot crashes his plane in a populated area, and kills someone, the survivors of that person will be able to sue not only the pilot's estate but also the makers of the plane as well, in order to get their money! Crap!

We're on the slipperly slope to total destruction, I'm afraid...

For weeks, Hamas has been sending rockets into Israel. Killing innocent people. (I don't remember any news articles about this, by the way, no sob stories of Israeli dads cradling dead children and vowing revenge on Hamas).

Last night, Isreal, after warning Gaza repeatedly, retaliated.

So the news today is all about how civilians were killed as well as Hamas people, and how fathers are cradling their dead sons and vowing death to Israel.

And I'm like, do you think the fact that your country has been sending rockets into Israel for the last few weeks might have a little something to do with what just happened?

Or, since these people are probably illiterate, do their immans just tell them that Gaza has been sitting their peacefully for several weeks and Israel made an unprovoked attack on them?

Let's face it - there will never be any peace in the Middle East. Just as with any other ethnic strife...people's hatred is just too virulent, and the joy of killing just too great, and the fact that both sides of these ethnicities apparently believe in God...a god who would allow this butchery for 4,000 years... just goes to show that religion is the great divider.

Also, this notion of governing from the center? His first appointment, his chief of staff is Rahm Emanuel. Do we know if Emanuel has accepted? Rahm Emanuel wants to be Speaker of the House. Let me tell you a little bit about Rahm Emanuel. Hillary Clinton hates him. In the White House, Rahm Emanuel pushed NAFTA and made that go first instead of her health care baby, and her health care baby suffered. There's no love lost between Rahm Emanuel and Hillary Clinton, and he is good a old-fashioned Chicago thug just like Obama is a good old-fashioned Chicago thug. On the night of the Clinton election, Rahm Emanuel was so angry at the president's enemies that he stood up at a celebratory dinner with colleagues from the campaign; Rahm Emanuel grabbed a steak knife and he began rattling off a list of betrayers.

As he listed their names, he shouted, "Dead! Dead! Dead!" and he plunged the steak knife into the table after every name.

In a brief career as an investment banker after that, he made millions and became familiar with Wall Street; in the House, he helped negotiate the government bailout of the financial system that the next president inherits.

How could he have made millions of dollars in a "brief career" as an investment banker, unless he was getting some help from some influential people, eh?

But there's the matter of his temperament — or, as Mr. Emanuel says, "I swear a lot." He also yells a lot, and in his sentences his favorite expletive can serve as subject, verb or adjective when he is facing down either recalcitrant Democrats or Republican opponents. As the House Democrats' campaign chairman for 2006, he swore at Hispanic and African-American House members, nearly all of whom had safe seats, to contribute more of their personal campaign finances to the party effort. Speaker Nancy Pelosi intervened to smooth things over.

To many Democrats, including some who are close to both men, Mr. Obama's choice of Mr. Emanuel to run the White House seems at odds with the atmosphere Mr. Obama enforced at his Chicago campaign headquarters. The motto there was "No drama with Obama," in contrast with the backbiting and shakeups in rivals' campaigns.

Tom Brokaw Believes He Doesn't Deserve His Success

And I often said, "If my skin had been one pigment darker, none of that would have happened for me," and that has always made me very conscious of where race fits in in America. Now I'm wondering, how many black athletes in college have been given three or four changes to make good, just because they were excellent athletes? And each time they'd screw up - assaulting girl friends, doing drugs, driving drunk - and each time they'd get a second chance and do it again. [Yes, there are white athletes who have screwed up as well, and also gotten second chances. It's not a black-white thing, it's an athlete thing.]

But as Limbaugh pointed out... where would Ed Bradley be if he wasn't black? (Not to mention the black news reporters on practically every TV news crew, on the sports channels, etc. etc. Sure, this stuff didnt' start until the 70s, but for 30 years the US - whites and blacks - have been working toward this goal, and the fact that Obama was even elected proves that the "country as a whole" isn't racist.

Blacks defeat gay marriage

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh today, who read out the results of the states - California and Florida, where bans on gay marriage were being voted on.

Interestingly, whites voted to NOT ban gay marriage, but the measures in both states passed because black voters voted to ban them.

FOr myself, I don't see why gays shouldn't be able to get married.

I also don't see why Limbaugh was all upset because the assisted-suicide measure - allowing suicide passed - why should someone have the right to tell someone else how much pain or agony they should have to endure, without being allowed to end their suffering. What kind of "God" do these people worship, that would rather see these people suffer then allow them to end their suffering - just because he inflicted it upon them as one of his tests to see if they would still believe in him? What a psycho God is...

Bev Perdue has become the first female governor of North Carolina.

I'd like to be happy that a woman has broken the glass ceiling, but she's a Democrat and two of her fundraisers had to resign over ethics violations.

So how on earth did she get elected?

Well, Obama won in a landslide.

According to the media, it was thanks to young people, who were disenchanted with Republicans.

I'd say it was thanks to the media, that served softballs to Obama for two years, hiding every flaw, that got him this presidency.

And it shows the limitations of "alternative" media. Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity have for two years been exposing Obama for what he is... and it did not matter.

There are tons of videos on YouTube showing exactly what Obama is, and it did not matter.

We've got a socialist president in the White House, we've Democrats who are nothing more than socialists in charge of the House and the Senate... and so within four years we're going to have a socialist USA.

Sad days indeed.

There's been several times over the years when people have thought the microphone was dead, and said what they really thought, only to find out later that the mike (or mic as the cognoscenti like to call it) was still on.

Such it is with this radio talk show host in San Francisco. KGO. The Karel show. Listen at the 1.07 mark.

"F**ck Joe the Plumber. I want Joe the Plumber dead."

Now, that's not Obama saying that. And McCain has some wacked out supporters of his own - i.e. that woman who faked an attack on her face and said an Obama supporter had done it.
